have 3rd parties gotten the srd yet?

Just curious if any publishers had an update on this yet? I saw that ScottR had posted on a Gleemax forums that there were getting info out to publishers in a few weeks. That was back in November. Anything yet?

So only those who bow and scrape and tell wonderful deeds of the unreleased system should have access to it?

It's bad buisiness, but what would you do if the guy who said that he want your stuff speak more or less in your back against you and your stuff?

CEOs are also humans...

If I was going to guess, I'd say that the SRD will go out to publishers the week of March 3rd: That's the week after the game is unveiled at the D&D Experience.

No saying for sure, of course, but it's a natural PR break.

3rd Parties being able to release quality product at GenCon for 4E is smart business. It makes sense to get them the rule set and licensing restrictions as soon as possible. We do not want another rash of rushed crap product to flood the market. Paizo, Necromancer and Green Ronin had no small part in the growth and adoption of 3E at the start. Give them a shot.

That will give Wotc all the pie at Gencon, but its just going to be a dumb move on their part. Getting all the third parties on board will mean more to the 4e sales overall, rather than fuel to the fire to stay behind...

Oh, I agree. Healthy 3rd party publishers = more gamers = more business for WotC. I hope and expect that they'll get them the SRD before then... but I won't be surprised if it happens later than folks prefer. The most important deadlines for WotC right now are their internal ones.

I think I'm going to expect the SRD around the time Piratecat says - if for no other reason than if I get it sooner, it'll be a pleasant surprise :)

I think we'll get it this month. That was said at Gencon and I think that will be when its delivered. If not, oh well. I get to wait to release anything for another year as I won't rush a new product out the door.
