I have preordered the 3 core rule books. I'm not even sure if we as a group will switch; but this way we'll have the info to make an informed choice.
That's where I am. Have them pre-ordered, but we may or may not switch. I figured someone had to eat the cost so we could try them out, might as well be me.

Having joined the 3rd edition bandwagon late enough in the process that I never learned all the rules properly, I'm determined to be in the front of the line for 4E. The new edition seems to be promising a much more streamlined and exciting game from what I've seen.

Which is why I've pre-ordered the core books and the first couple of adventures. My gaming groups actually seem to be pretty amenable to the idea of 4E, especially with Keep on the Shadowfell as a no-investment (for them) trial balloon that can be played with a supposed minimum of fuss. I'll be running at least one and probably two D1 games prior to the core rulebooks' release. (So it better not suck, Mr. Mearls.)

What I'm not planning to buy as of this moment is the new Forgotten Realms setting. From what I've seen the new version bears very little resemblance to the 1E-2E heyday of my youth.

None of the above here as well.

I'm not buying them at all.

Me too. Can't find that option on the poll though.

And where's the option for "I might buy some modules and convert them to my 3e homebrew?" ;) Forbidden City, I'm looking at you!

Going to buy them, not going to pre-order. I think it's best to wait for the second printing so that they get all of the really bad errors out.

I'll probably end up buying them after they come out, but I need to actually read through them before I lay down money.

Yep, me too. I've been burned on too many purchases to buy these sight unseen. If I like what I see and hear a couple months after release, then I won't mind paying full price (besides, I like my FLGS).

OTOH, if I don't like the new game, then I'll be glad I didn't waste my money on a pre-order.

I want an option for...

Unconvinced, entirely uncommitted.

I'll probably get some 4e soon. Around the time my favourite PDF publishers start producing something independent. If there isn't an an independent publishing wave in 4e, I'll probably stick with 3.5.
