Heart of Artifice: Part I--Engineered Enigma

Anvuss does want to help the children, though he wants to bring them here rather than go to them.

His motivation is a bit lacking in part because he doesn't understand the concept of childhood. In fact, these 'children' are many times his own age... he feels toward them no more than he would for any other stranger who had done him no harm, regardless of age.

His efforts failing, Anvuss is resigned to await the return of one of his companions. Once he becomes so resigned, he will move away from the machine to wait.

(OOC: This could take a while, but here's hoping!--I expected that if one person disappeared, the others wouldn't let them go one by one (if Anvuss had been on there with Aethelus, they both would have gone) :o)

*A little over a minute after Kharas disappeared, Anvuss and Elizabeth see a blue vortex open up over the array and dump Kharas out, along with a little girl.*

"Kharas! He's back...but that isn't Lucy or Susie."

"Finally!" tells Kharas, as he come out of the portal. Seeing Elizabeth and Anvuss, he asks "You still here?" at Elizabeth exclamation, he turns toward Elysia. "Oh, this is Elysia, daugther of Spira's Baron. I have news, the kids are on teh other end of that vortex, but it will not be easy to find them. I'm haunted over there... hey, where is Aethelus?"

"Spira? Baron? Is that a Dragonmark on the back of her hand?" Elizabeth points, and Kharas does indeed see a Dragonmark in the spot where it had glowed before...even besides the addition of the Dragonmark, Elysia looks slightly different somehow, though he can't put a finger on it.
