Heart of Artifice: Part I--Engineered Enigma

[sblock=ooc]I know I didn't miss it. But hey it was the hook for a 1st level adventure where the characters weren't even supposed to level. You can't give them too much money.[/sblock]

"Wyrd Ruby? What is that?" asks Kharas. "More I am thinking about it, more I think the Lord of Blades is not such a fool idea. Noah, Peter's father, is working on a schema a group, which I was part of it, found in an old forge hidden in the sewer of Sharn. By three time, we had to fight his agent. I almost got killed once. That schema seems to interest him to the highest point. I remember clearly what that shema have on it, and it didn't make sense by itself. It need to be combine with others schema. Maybe he already have some and would like to have that one. Peter's life for the shema would be a nice trade for him." He turns his attention to Elizabeth "And I think, you and him, don't have a good relation, or am I wrong?"

"Wyrd Ruby? What is that?"

"The ruby is just an artefact (OOC: No, not a D&D artifact! Just like an archaeologist's artefact) of Xen'drik. It isn't important, but I'd like to find it. Do whatever you can to help Lucy first and foremost and just let me know if you find it by accident while looking around."

"And I think, you and him, don't have a good relation, or am I wrong?"

*Elizabeth's lips draw slightly tighter in an enigmatic line.*

"Yes...I guess Noah told you that. That was in the past, though..."

(OOC: Yeah, it's not your fault. But the economics of it is off. The trouble is that to keep the economics in line with anything reasonable, you basically can't have PCs recovering vitally-important items for a patron at 1st-level unless they are only vital for sentimental value "Help me find my lost wedding ring!")

"If it doesn't matter much, it could be usefull to know what it is, if the Lord of Blade is really implicated, but if you don't want to speak about it, I think we can stay like that for now." adds Kharas to Elizabeth.

(OOC: The check isn't hard if you convincingly claim that it would help Lucy. Elizabeth really cares for her, and that's stronger than her aversion to speaking of it, she just doesn't think it will help. While I roll, you can post Kharas saying that he thinks it will help ;))
