Help! Classic module questions

For more info about Ravenloft and some of these other "conversions" look in the conversion forum and the conversion downloads area.

Ravenloft is written for characters of 1edADnD in those level ranges.

which is mid levels.

for the newer editions that would be closer to 10-12th lvls.

I am planning on doing a kind of throwback summer for D+D with my gaming group. We are playing 3e and I am planning on converting and using some (one, maybe two) of the classic modules for this. Where I need help is deciding what modules to use. A couple things I am looking for:
1)must be downloadable from svgames
2)I use a homebrew setting and need something I can sort of integrate into the current game
3)I am looking for a game with levels in the 4-8 range or so.

Finally, the one I am most interested in is the classic Ravenloft Module. A couple questions: what levels does it cover? Is it entertaining and worth it?

Thanks for your help!

A great classic adventure to fit the bill is Ghost Tower of Inverness. I ran this one for my 3rd Ed. group a couple years ago and we had a blast. It is for character levels 5-7 and presents a variety of challenges.

I'll second the Ghost Tower of Inverness suggestion. I have great memories of playing that one 20 years ago. It had puzzles that were hard and the difficulty level increased really nicely as the players progressed through the adventure. Could easily last a few sessions, and would make an esp. good summer adventure with characters that the players weren't attached to. The final enounters are esp. deadly.

White Plume Mountain was also another favorite of my youth. We played that one multiple times. I don't think you find a D&D group in my junior high who didn't have a least one character wielding one of the 3 artifacts.

PirateCat: I love your idea of the White Plume Mountain flashback, and doing it using 1e rules. Man, that would be crazy fun.

Another good adventure might be "The Lost Shrine of Tamochoan". Plenty of room to expand out into the surrounding jungle if your characters survive.
