I will again point out that for mana-based magical systems, you can't get any better than Elements of Magic (Revised). The Anima class from its companion book, Lyceian Arcana, also strikes me as an excellent way to make a confessor.

Arrg, i will buy it, i swear!!! Whats the company name????

yes, so will I but it isn't just go to the store. they order it from england (I think), and it takes a while. And I'm in a little worry, because I want the classes to be ready as soon as possible. The group wants to make there characters in advance, so that I know what I'm dealing with. It's a big help, when you know the characters before you start your campaign.
And I've got bad news. The campaign that's being played, is gonna end in mid november. Just spoken with the GM. So friends HELP!!!

*chuckles* You can find all the books I've mentioned on the EN World Store, as they are products by E.N. Publishing (and all written by our beloved RangerWickett). If you want printed copies, you'll have to order through RPGNow, but you get a PDF before it's mailed in any case, so you can look at the rules immediately.

In any case, I'd recommend you go to this site's Reviews section and look at the reviews of Elements of Magic (Revised), Lyceian Arcana, and Elements of Magic - Mythic Earth to see if the products are right for you. They're really awesome and in the "Wow, why didn't they do it this way in the first place?!" category, but I'd hate to get you to buy something you'd only end up hating (though that's a rare reaction IME :D ).

okay, we have approximately 2 weeks for these guys? lets do it!!

The Wizard

Alighment > Any

HD > d4 or d6 - whats the consensus??

Class Skills > Concentration, Craft, Decipher Script, Knowledge (all), Spellcraft

Skill Points > (2+Int mod) x 4 @ 1st, 2+Int at every other level

BAB > 1/2

Saves > Bad Fort and Ref, Good Will

Special > Up till level (five?), wizards suffer from a varying degree of ailments

Spells > like i said before, these aren't my forte . . . the way i see it, theres the Sorcerer at one end of the spectrum. He knows limited spells, but can cast many of them a day. The Wizards Knows a great deal of spells, but may only cast a few per day. Wizards in Terry Goodkind's world are much more like sorcerers in that respect. Low # known, but can "buff" up quite a bit. Spell Lists i imagine would change a bit too - less evocation, more transmutation, etc etc.

First off, I didn read to the end of the thrtead, so this may have already been adressed.

Tolkien
But I distinctly remember Gandalf being almost godlike compared to the other companions of the fellowship. I am not sure if there ever was a wizard in the Lord of the Ring books that was comparably as powerful as the companions. Wizards there were grteat and powerful and were usually not bothering to travel with the companions but rather go and do great "wizardy" things, and come back and save them.

That said, I would make wizards highly powerful, and drop them as PC class.

Goodkind
I don't remember much of this, I read only one book, and that was a long time ago. But yes, again, most wizards and other magic using people seemed exceedingly powerful. The enchantress chick knew it was her destiny to be killed by the sword, once it changed by love and not hate. Sorry, it has been a long time since I read that one, I really should read it and the others again.

Fairy Tale Wizards
I seem to remember most fairy tale wizards being really really powerful compared to any one else.

Also, fairy tale magic tends to be absolute, no saving throws. The only way to escape a spell is by extrodanary circumstances. Extreme emotion generally.

That said, if you want fairy tale magic, which would be very very cool, it should be far more powerful than any "normal" hero.

Good luck, and I'll be back later to read more of it, to see if I went and just repeated a bunch of points.
