Help my 12 hp wizard (lvl 4)

False life is brilliant for you - even at 4th level you might be able to double your hit points, and should you reach 7th level you can empower it for 12-27 extra hit points for 7 hours (and cast it again once it is used up).

My 9th level sorceress has a current hp total of 73 (in the middle of an adventure) and that was a pretty bad roll for false life. :D

Heh. Our party recently had a 3rd level wizard with 18 hit points... and a 3rd level paladin with... 18 hit points.

One rolled really well. The other, well, didn't.

I'm much more concerned with AE stuff than someone coming up and smacking me with a melee weapon. I certainly know how to get the heck outta dodge if that happens, but sometimes you just can't avoid the random fireball or baby dragon breathing acid all over you.

Spells like bears endurance or cats grace are great...if this was 3.0. With such a short duration I'd think they're almost not worth casting (especially since they take up that oh so precious spell slot - using UA's spell point variant).

Get a nice familiar for Reflex saves (maybe Lightning Reflexes). Keep an eye on Heroism when you reach 5th level (+2 saves, last 50 min).

A craft some items. Starting with a brooch, since a couple of magic missiles is likely to put you out of business too.

oh yeah, familiar.

Convince your dm to use the 3.0 version of the toad. After all, it doesnt do anything useful other than give the bonus, and you need it desperately. Also, giving a virtual toughness feat is just idiotic ;) Only slightly better than a sharp stick in the eye.

I once played with a elven monk with 8 con, at level four he had .. 12hp
on the last roll the player just walked him off into the swamp to play with the alligators.
a wizard has more options- perhaps a monk level or 2?
evasion, +3 to all saves, possible wisdom AC bonus, lots o hp & deflect arrows
then take practiced spell caster feat (assuming an arcane equivilent) to restore lost caster level.

My current wizard (necromancy) has no con bonus, and as such I have 12 hit points at level 4. And if that's not bad enough, my AC is 12 (mage armor is in an opposed school). I'm feeling like anything that wanted to kill me, could, and it's just by the DM's mercy that I am alive. But I'm bound to get caught in some area effect spell or trap eventually. Long story short, I'm feeling pretty frail.

Help my wizard become "safer"! Opposed schools are conj and enchantment. Assume I can use 3rd level spells (I'll be 5 soon enough) and can purchase or craft items appropriate for my level.

So far I've figured out to use false life and vampiric touch to gain some temporary hps (do temp hps stack?).
Vest of endurance & the feats toughness and/or improved toughness. Raise your Con instead of your Int at 4th & 8th. Good luck.
