Help my 12 hp wizard (lvl 4)

My current wizard (necromancy) has no con bonus, and as such I have 12 hit points at level 4. And if that's not bad enough, my AC is 12 (mage armor is in an opposed school). I'm feeling like anything that wanted to kill me, could, and it's just by the DM's mercy that I am alive. But I'm bound to get caught in some area effect spell or trap eventually. Long story short, I'm feeling pretty frail.
Welcome to the world of being a Wizard. Simplest solution is to get Bulls Endurance, cast it, and have +8hp when in a bad spot. *shrug*

Featwise, Improved Toughness (Complete Warrior) is +1hp/level. You WOULD have been well advised to take Mind over Body (use Intelligence modifier instead of Constitution modifier at 1st level, and gain +1hp for each metamagic feat you learn), but that can only be taken at 1st level (issues of Region aside).

Research an arcane, necromantic version of Barkskin. Call it Flesh of the Dead or something.

That should help the AC issue some, plus it fits with the character concept.

You are a Necromancer with no con bonus? There is a real simple solution that happens to be in your field of expertise.

Undeath.

No more Con worries there!

Find out how the DM is on ECL template aquired mid game before you follow through with this.

Also if the DM is iffy on full lichdom, see if you can get al least a non rotting, inteligence-retaining zombie body. If you play your cards right you may wind up with DR 5/slashing stacked onto a d12 HD. Do pack a few cause wounds potion if the group's cleric is squeemish on your no longer so delicate condition.

A 4th level necromancer lich... :p

Think more of a 4th level necromancer zombie addicted to a modified gentle repose who will be a real dead wieght for most negotiations.

To say NOTHING of the hilarity that will ensue when the party cleric turns undead.

Let me add a few things not mentioned so far.

1. Make sure that you got your 4 hp for first level, it is a rule, if you rolled it and got a 2 ask your DM for those two points back.

2. Ask your DM for some help. A con item hat give you +4 to your con score is really out of your reach right now.

3. Ask the DM for more HP, after all the game is about having fun.

I know there's a larger debate with issues of rolling vs. point buy and the like, but you might want to bug your DM to use the [max for first, half+1 thereafter option] in the future. And don't let em use the even/odds method now being suggested. Pruning randomness from character creation and leveling has really helped in my games. No more jealousy and incessant whining.
