Help out a bit with tips n answers?

Greenfield , its 3.5, on my other character sheets, on the rogue abilities which are open locks..move silently...hide in shadows..some other on traps and such... its done with the percentage dice, dunno why..maybe its his rule, and i think 50% is a bit to much..good for me but for being lvl 3 seems a bit to much..no? Would it being... is hide DIFFERENT from Hide in Shadows??? D: no hate ><..

marcielle, alright thanks!! thats pretty useful, once we get going on some better gear and maybe lvl 5..ill ask him about that. are there specific ones?? or would you just say you'd want one to help in a skill type/battle way?

hmmm.....i fail to see how one mixes 2nd edition "thief's" percentile stats with 3.5....

Pred i suggest you ask your DM about his house ruling.
...Cause if it's a mix of 2nd and 3.5... and we continue advising you on 3.5, chances are that most of our proposals won't stand with you DM..

I will, must be his twist, so i don't know... ill tell tomorrow cuz, tomorrow were gonna play some MOAR :D..

and why not?? what would seem to be the problem?

Yeah, there are only about a dozen types of symbionts in the Eberron setting. To narrow it down, the ones useful to a rouge are

Eberron campaign setting:
Psionic sinew - stat boost

Magic of Eberron:
Shadow sibling - already deatailed
Throwing scarab - Infinite stealthed magical throwing knives. Probably won't be taken away when you are searched for weapons. Acid damage.
Spellwurm - a minimage attached to your literal hip. Some utility spells and magic missile.

Shadow Sibling is the obvious choice for a rouge but if you find that you are often up against high AC or things that can stay out of your reach, spellwurm might be helpful.
Throwing scarab is for if you're more an urban or intrigue adventurer, in which case an endless supply of stealthed, magical weapons will make sure you always have something to fall back on.
Other symbionts are of little or no use to rouges.

he will probably charge me 10billion golds for it..we shall see, thanks for the info! sounds REALLY useful a lot more for espionage and proving a dungeon..thanks!

Sounds like he's an old 12t ed player still houseruling things.

And yes, Hide as the skill is the same as the old Hide in Shadows ability from 1st and 2nd Ed.

Sounds as if he's running D&D 1.2.3.5 :)

maybe, i dunno... but yeah he did say it was gonna be 3.5 with an extra from the rest now that i remember..

I really appreciate all the help with the tips you guys have given me.. :D thanks a lot..

Greenfield, any chance uh..that i can ask you some Q's via a msg instead of here..since i think my thread will be almost at a close.. just some general tips on a current situation that i'm in hehehe

read all the reply s and what i see is a very novice player who really hasnt read the phb yet.. thats ok... i consider myself an expert on 2.5 or was it 2.4 lol but for 3.5 im still a novice... it takes time..
now to your original query... how to increase your fight survival skill. a basic is Fire! inexpensive very effective and inexpensive.. flasks of oil and touch/flaming arrow. advanced... alchemical fire.... or just get some phosphorus and put chunks in the oil. that last bit was from an old dragon magazine... dont really recommend..falling down with those in your back pack.... whooosh i think is a good term...

invisibility is a must for a good rogue... at least i always thought so..

Hey..i have read most of it :P like 60% of it.. i have the idea's, but i need to figure out if i can do this or that with the skill, also in between combat, yes i've read MOST of it..at least for me i won't go into melee that much, all i need to do is flank/tumble flank sneak attack or ranged..but yeah ill keep in mind to get some fire, atleast with my rogues kit i can make some. when ever i get to civilization..or we... we had a terrible run in at sea :c and i mean bad news bears

For purposes of sale and WLB, symbionts are pretty darn cheap ranging from 2000(most of em) to 8000( the most expensive 2). Unfortunately, shaodw sibling costs 8000 but if you ask me a ghost that does everything you say and gives a couple of bonuses to key skills is pretty darn worth it. Especially since all abberations have darkvission unless otherwise stated andyou being in constant telepathic communication results in YOU having constant darkvission too. Don't tell your DM anything but the obvious, if he knew how awesome it was, he might make it harder to get one lol
