I didn't read all the replies, so this may have been covered, but I'm seeing something odd in the Feats list: Monkey Grip.

MONKEY GRIP [GENERAL]
You are able to use a larger weapon than other people your size.
Prerequisite: Base attack bonus +1.
Benefi t: You can use melee weapons one size category larger than you are with a –2 penalty on the attack roll, but the amount of effort it takes you to use the weapon does not change. For instance, a Large longsword (a one-handed weapon for a Large creature) is considered a two-handed weapon for a Medium creature that does not have this feat.
For a Medium creature that has this feat, it is still considered a one-handed weapon. You can wield a larger light weapon as a light weapon, or a larger two-handed weapon in two hands.
You cannot wield a larger weapon in your off hand, and you cannot use this feat with a double weapon.
Normal: You can use a melee weapon one size category larger than you are with a –2 penalty on the attack roll, and the amount of effort it takes to use the weapon increases. A larger light weapon is considered a one-handed weapon, a larger one handed weapon is considered a two-handed weapon, and you cannot use a larger two-handed weapon at all.
I've seen a lot of people try to use Monkey Grip to wield two handed weapons such as the scythe with one hand.

That's not what the feat does. It allows you to wield a larger weapon than you normally could, without penalties. Period.

So if the build was calling for Monkey Grip to free up a shield hand, you might want to reconsider that part of the plan.

Monkey Grip still gives you a -2 penalty to hit.

The original build called for Improved Buckler Defense. Which, depending on the campaign needs to be weighed versus an animated shield.

Monkey Grip was not about trying to 1 hand the scythe no. It was about a small (She's 5'0") human 'girl' using a weapon way too big for her and looking scary while doing it. I knew it didn't change the handedness.

Dandu: I don't know if people sell intangibles like data files on amazon or ebay so that might not work for me. If it was just getting the book that would be easy enough, but the DM doesn't want to deal with the time it takes for doing everything on paper so the rule is only what we have in eTools is usable. And even then I've had to make a few house rules mods to get a couple feats working right.

So yeah, if you know someone who has data sets for eTools 1.666 (Not the older 1.566 ones) then I can expand my resources, otherwise I'm limited there.

I don't know if it would be easy to get an animated shield. The DM is weird when it comes to loot sometimes. Can't always just 'sell it for what we want', even in a big city like Waterdeep at half resale value.

Soultpp, there is a group of users (paging Heliomance) attempting to continue and rebuild heroforge.

You can find their work here

Thanks Grogg, I'll definitely look into that (already DLed and will play with it) but I would still have to get agreement with everyone to use it. eTools was originally a group purchase, so there is a certain amount of attachment to it because of that.

While he's perfectly within his power to do this, it's not how I would handle the matter.
