D&D 5E (2024) Here's The Covers of BOTH of November's Forgotten Realms Books

Covers of Forgotten Realms: Heroes of Faerun and Forgotten Realms: Adventures in Faerun.
We've known for some time that in November, WotC will be releasing not one but two Forgotten Realms books--one aimed at players, the other at Dungeon Masters. Thanks to Game Informer, we now have a look at the covers of Forgotten Realms: Heroes of Faerun and Forgotten Realms: Adventures in Faerun. The article showcases more art, and is well worth checking out--and for those who want more, the print magazine has a full feature previewing the books.

My goodness I am a 180 from the opinion. The 3e trade dress and graphic design are one of the major things that kept me away from that edition!
Really? I thought those were the best the covers and graphic design have ever looked (and I'm not even that into 3e). They were a neat unifying design element and you could read them in public without normies going "What the hell is that?"

Dragons, always more dragons.

IDK, maybe a map of FR or similar landscape overview for the Adventures book. Focus on the setting not the characters. For the player's guide it is a little to cartoony for my taste, but I don't find it offensive or anything. It wouldn't stop me from buying it, it just doesn't encourage my to buy it.
My first thought had been a map for the DM-facing book, but I think that works much better for the... not sure the term... whatever they have on the inside, er, side of the covers. :)

I didn't mind the logo design too much (though not a fan of it), but I was not a fan of the cover art for the core books. I get what they were going for, but it was pretty ugly IMO... and I'm of the opposite opinion of you that a "normie" in a public setting would look at them and think, "Yeah, that's nice." LOL
