In the fading light, Theremin didn’t see any evidence of anyone else inside the walls surrounding the tower, at least on this side. Unlike in the Prime plane, the grass wasn’t long enough for kobolds to hide in. It seemed safe.

As Theremin peeked into the front door of the tower, he saw the empty half-room of the foyer from when they had exited the tower days before. The staircase on the right still went around and up to the next level, and there were still the double doors in the wall beyond.
But Theremin did hear things. He seemed to hear the sounds of sword striking armor or shield, shouts of battling foes.
Mindra spent quite a bit of time combing the ground outside the gate, in the bailey and around the tower looking for any trace of the kobolds that fled the tower. Only noticing after the fact that Theremin and Coriana were heading into the tower. Once she realized she followed quickly after.

Mindra found tracks left by the kobolds. Most seemed to be fleeing the area of the tower. No kobolds still seemed to be in the bailey. She didn’t find any orb. When she followed Theremin and Coriana into the tower, she, too, heard the sounds of battle. They sounded as if they were in the room, but also...distant. As she moved through the room, she felt a slight chill passing through some areas, followed by the normal chill of the Shadowfell in others.
Double doors stood in the wall opposite the entrance, and the staircase led up into the tower. A single door was set under the stairs that Mindra remembered led to the dungeon in the Material Plane.
Theremin whispers to his companions "Lets investigate who is making this noise". Although Theremin would gladly rush forward, his lack of armor and protective magics make him reluctant to do so.
