The Hive turns a year old with GenCon this year, so we want to try and get EVERYONE, old and new, here during GenCon for a big birthday bash. Basically, take over EN World for a few days while evryone else is away :D

Well this is an interesting topic to walk in on. U2 is cool, but don't know about best band eva. Beetles would have to be up there :D

Yes, but the Beetles weren't around in the last 20 years were they ;)

Don't forget New Age or Ambient: Seven Waves (Suzanne Ciani)

Howdy. Nice to meet you, a fellow Texan and all.

I don't know much about Ambient. I've heard a bit, but I never really took enough notice to buy any of it exceot for Emmanuel Top, which I think is genius. you ever heard them?

Shania Twain? I still think she is pop. She was a hard one to pin down, but this last album cinched it for me. I have lots of mixed feeling about her music. its a guilty pleasure for me.
i
Kilmore, man I have seen some weird shtuff across the border. There was really a very active cult near here about ten years ago, that woudl kidnap and sacrifice tourists. In Nuevo Laredo I saw a man that really made my skin crawl when he looked at me, I could not tell you why. he looked normal really, dressed in regular clothes but when i saw him i swear he was imagining me dead.

So freaky stuff yes. Girls dressed in black latex and lace. Nope. Sad huh?

How did I manage to post a quote with no reply? hmm

I really wish I coudl go, but since I have been jobless I just could not afford to go. I seriously I doubt i could manage it now. I'll really have to look into this now.

If we were talking about bands of all time...

Beatles and the Rolling Stones. Done.

I used to really love the Beatles, to the exclusion of all others, but over the years the Rolling Stones have really become a much bigger part of my life. As I get older I find their bluesy rock to be a soundtrack for my life, making moments much more poingnant than is probably healthy.

Well, you don't have to actually go to GenCon, just be online and in the Hive for our birthday bash!

Here's an interesting tidbit: Did you know that KISS have now sold more gold and platinum records than The Beatles or Rolling Stones? KISS are actually number 1, with the Beatles 2 and Rolling Stones not far nehind in 3rd.

That doesn't really surprise me. One thing I have noticed is that KISS fans are really into it. Every KISS fan I personallty know owns every album, usually on vinyl and CD or tape, and all of the solo stuff too.

Chalk me up as another one who owns all of them :) Can't wait for the next album to come out (it is a live album with the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra - I was lucky enough to actually be at the concert).
