I haven't gotten a cancellation or a notice of delay.
(I live in America tho and as far as I'm aware of, this is effecting NZ/Australia more).

That being said I haven't gotten a confirmation of shipping from GameNerdz......yet.
That's a bit strange - they should have sent it to you in the past week.

I have had some "moments" with GameNerdz and Miniature Market where, despite something coming out on a release date, I had to wait for the product to arrive at their place to ship it to me.

They are my two main places , alongside Noble Knight Games and Atomic Empire, that I order from. Rarely do I have a problem with them and the last two moments occurred during gencon of last year/and a holiday.

Still, I did have to resort to Ebay to get my limited edition alt cover of The Book of Ebon Tides(GameNerzd moment) due to a stock/pre order mishap in 2022/2023.

Sure, that's fair, but you're reading things between the lines that I find... not quite right, and I'm attempting to explain it to you (and failing).
From my perspective I am taking what they wrote at face value, no reading between the lines necessary. You can argue that they could be wrong in what they sent out and there is not really anything to counter that with, but I do not think that I am misinterpreting / reading into what their email said.

If the argument becomes whether their email is accurate or not, then we will have to wait and see. Not sure we will learn the eventual outcome of that though. I am not expecting them to send another email in a month saying ‘we were totally wrong and got all the books we ordered after all’. I doubt WotC would send out a public announcement then either if Gameology got it right all along, so I am not sure how we will be able to determine this in a month or so…

You are reading between the lines, though - as you are assuming that their information comes from WotC - that WotC told them that they will only be receiving 10% of their order, which might not be the case, is what I'm trying to tell you.

We've circled around, but this started because you expected WotC to do something about it right now.

If the argument becomes whether their email is accurate or not, then we will have to wait and see.
Sure. There appears to be an anti-WotC bias in the email, as they keep going on about it being a "Global" problem, and use language that suggests that WotC has screwed up again. But as we know, there's a European delay, and an Oceanic shortage, but there ISN'T a North American delay OR shortage (other than that it's selling out fast, but that's due to increased demand, not under-supply).

So there's some obvious misinformation right there in the letter. It's also on Reddit, and is posted by someone who calls it "Beyond Unacceptable".

It might not be wrong but it IS slanted.

No, we probably won't see any of that, except maybe on here, posted by angry fans.

it’s right there…

“The Gameology team has personally spoken to representatives from WOTC and they advised that there were printing issues during manufacturing that resulted in the global undersupply of the Player's Handbook Alternative Cover.

When our team pressed the WOTC representatives on if they would reprint the Player's Handbook Alternative Cover to correct the short supply, they informed us that a reprint is not being considered.

As a consequence, Gameology is receiving less than 10% of our initially preordered stock”

Not sure what part you consider reading between the lines, what part of what I wrote is not on those lines?

Your argument seems to be more ‘sure they wrote that, but can we trust what they wrote’

Yes, the 10% might not have come from WotC, it might have come from their distributor instead and they contacted WotC after that to learn more

“According to our suppliers, other retailers have actually been placed in a worse situation with their stock, receiving less than 5% of their orders”

I don’t think they just made that number up though

We've circled around, but this started because you expected WotC to do something about it right now.
I said I found their communication lacking, that is the right now bit. I was not expecting them to switch on some printing presses today

a global undersupply does not need to affect all regions evenly, it could mean the supply in America and Europe cannot make up for / cover the shortfall in Oceania. Maybe they rerouted what they could and that is what is causing the delays, but even with that they cannot meet all orders in Oceania

No, we probably won't see any of that, except maybe on here, posted by angry fans.
so not sure we will ever get a confirmation one way or the other then basically

Yup. Even here in Canada where there is no shortage, I'm out of the PHB as of a moment ago, and my distributor tells me that I won't get any more Exclusive Covers Ever and no more Regular Covers for Two Weeks.

Does anyone know which distributor is being mentioned? It isn't clear which one people are talking about.

From what I can tell these retailers are affected:
  • Good games (35 stores)
  • Ronin (2 stores)
  • Gameology (2 stores)
I don't know which ones aren't. Has anyone identified a retail outlet in Australia or NZ that isn't affected?

Should I rush to my store to get one? I generally buy those books in trio but as far as I know, there's still no planned trio package.
