Horror/Occult/Conspiracy books for d20 Modern...

I finally got OGL Horror (almost 6 months after I originally ordered it, eventually I got a refund and bought it on ebay from FRPGames, only that was hung up with something else I ordered which they turned out not to have in stock).

It's actually pretty close to what I was looking for. And it's reasonably close to d20 Modern (without the fantasy stuff), sorta like a combination of d20 CoC (the classes, mostly, and the magic systems are close) and d20 Modern.

So most d20 Modern stuff is compatible, as long as it doesn't use the default d20 Modern spell system.

So anyway, I'm looking for modern horror/occult/conspiracy books. Nothing high-powered or super-heroish or post apocalyptic.

I know there is Blood & Relics from Chuck. And the Menance Manual for d20 Modern itself.

Anything else? ( I know of the Hogshead stuff, which are actually more like mini-games)

12 to Midnight have done some pretty nifty PDF adventures (Last Rites of the Black Guard, Weekend Warriors, Bloodlines, and don't miss the free adventure in their latest download).

I've got the first volume of Lost Destinations coming out "any day now". The series is based on turning the freakish and strange places of our world into something you can drop into your D20M game world. It was supposed to be OGL Horror, but since getting a logo graphic and Horror SRD is like pulling teeth, that isn't happening because I'm not going to retype any the OGL Horror stuff I'd like to have included in at least abridged form.

Anyway, Lost Destinations 1 focuses on the township of West Milford, NJ, arguably the strangest place in the United States, complete with abandoned neighborhoods, a loooooong road to nowhere, KKK activity, Satanists worshipping in the woods (and occasionally killing each other in turf wars), an abandoned wild animal park that was abandoned with some of the wildlife still there... I could go on, but I don't want to spoil the fun.

I'm hoping to have the thing done in the next 2-3 weeks.

I second that emotion on the nifty part... if you were to buy something other than Blood and Relics and d20 CoC for your Modern horror fix it should be the stuff listed below.

[blatant self-promotion]

It sounds like Bloodlines may be exactly what you want. It's a d20 Modern game, BUT we abandoned WotC's magic system in favor of OGL Horror's--so you're already covered there. You'll find new spells, rituals, and artifacts. Plus a whole bunch of player handouts and maps, and even MORE bonus material on our website.

FFG just released Darkness & Dread. Which sounds interesting although it looks as if there will be at least some overlap with CoC/OGL Horror (Sanity rules etc).

Bad Axe's Grim Tales should have at least something worth steal...err borrowing. ;)

There's the Nocturnum CoC supplement by FFG & Chaosium released at least three dual stat CoC books (Dunwich, Arkham & one other which slips my mind).

The CoC Gamemaster's Pack has some supplemental BRP to D20 conversion rules.

It may not be D20 but get the old Alternity Dark Matter book as well, it is definitely worth it.

Huzzah to the D*M pitch. You can download the PDF for like 4.50, probably pick up an old used copy online somewhere like EBay, as well.

I'm interested in OGL Horror but I just haven't bought it yet. I'm currently embroiled in getting married, so most of my money is tied up in ... getting married. Expensive, that, even with her parents porting most of the bills. Poor grad student that I am.

I'm interested in DJorgensen's Lost Destinations ... because I love places like that in my Modern/D*M games and it's easier when some other sucker does all the legwork and then sells it to me. ;)

Delta Green d20 isn't REALLY DGd20, I hear. It's double-columnar reprinting with BRP/D20 on either side. Which amounts to the same thing, of course, but just to note.

The big problem with that is I'm begining to think it's vaporware. The whole company is apparently down to one dude working in his basement trying to get things printed in China when he's not at work trying to pay the bills. If I weren't busy and he knew me from Adam's house-cat, I'd lend a freakin' hand just to get the thing DONE and IN MY HANDS.

Hmmm, thanks for the suggestions. I'll try to include them all in my review of OGL Horror. And that bit about Mongoose dragging their feat on the OGL Horror logo - part of the appeal of their OGL Line was the hope that smaller publishers might support it. Kinda hard to do without logos and such.
