Hi folks, OP here.
I just wanted to give an update to the question at hand:

KABOOM!

I have put a bunch of stuff up to be devoured by the ebay sharks. Most of it is in related lots, so go ahead and solve my issue my internet-comrades, buy stuff. I will let you know how it goes.
Hopefully it can top out to the cost of a tablet so I can feel the full force of the digitzation of the collection.

(Ebay is a giant hassle of photography, posting and shipping, however.)

I figure that most of the stuff that I bought I may want to play at some later date. Before I wizened up and started going digital for my purchases, I'd give the books away to my friends. This way they stay within my gaming circle, but don't consume a whole room!
