I am excited about 4e, and while I haven't liked everything that has come out it looks like it will be a lot of fun.
My group is not as excited so while we will do a one-shot of 4e, there may be one more 3.5 campaign.

It still looks like a different game than 3.xe (which we enjoy) Its still too early for me to tell if it will be better.

I'm a lemming because the new edition is solving most of the problems I had independently come to hate in 3.5? Either way, if I play 4E or not, I'm quitting 3.5, and I haven't bought a 3.5 book in two years.

Lemming answer polls even when their true feelings aren't expressed. Independent thinkers will voice their concerns when the poll doesn't include any viable answers that reflect their perspective.
See, that's why I choose the lemming answer and you didn't! I _am_ a lemming.

I think there is a corollary to one of hongs favorite laws of fantasy:
- Don't think too hard about forum polls!
Let's call it the Lemming corollary!

I think you forgot: "I wasn't excited about 4e at first but with what I've seen will be switching."

Clearly the point of the poll is to make 4E fans look lemmings.

Not that they aren't. But still, based on what is here, no matter how bad the game turned out, we would buy and play it!

This poll is stupid, and insulting. The only 4E option is, "I'm a lemming."

Where is, "I was excited about 4E, and from what I've seen so far I'm still/more excited about 4E."?

Ooh. Ninja'd.

EDIT: He really just change the thread title to "Take the Lemming Poll".

Maybe, but maybe not?

I know that there was a lot in 3E I did not like that much. But I never cared to fix much of it. (Though I switched to DMing Iron Heroes). And no other game system seemed to give me a similar overall positive game experience with 3E. But when I began reading the previews (especially the books) and the discussions on ENWorld, all the negative aspects became "more in the face" then ever before, and I was getting more and more excited on 4E.
I can appreciate that. My anecdotal reference however is Gencon 2007, the day 4E was broached to a convention crowd for the first time and the howling cheers and applause against 3.x's faults made it pretty evident to me at any rate that many would switch sight unseen.

How about "I'm purchasing 4E because the Game Engine and its assumptions are far more enjoyable for me and my group, and I'm intelligent enough to work around corner cases?"

Im doing this poll to see where the people are regarding 4e. Mostly out of curiosity.

If there was a "I like what I see", or "More excited than I used to be" or a "Optimistic" or even a "It looks good" option I would surely have selected that. But I don't see any options for people who are looking forward to 4e. Not even one.
