I think there is an option for updates that I hesitate to discuss because it's going to seem "clickbaity." Personally, I would expect errata and updates to be similar to last edition where they are few in number and people ask for more of them than you ever see.
The controversial option is that they will take a 4E-esque option. In 4E, there were frequent updates to powers because of the online character builder. If this edition is going to fully go into the online option, I think you will see a lot of updates presented in this fashion. The idea is that if D&D Beyond is going to be the cornerstone of play, you can have micro-updates to individual spells or other game elements. I expect that a lot of YouTube personalities will be expecting this option, but I have no idea if they will actually do it. So before you want to bring torches and pitchforks against this idea, I'll say that I have no idea if that will actually be the case.
