Wow... You're the only other person I've ever "met" that knows of that game... I have a module (err wait they call them adventures now right) for that game I bought in Germany..

*laughs*

That's quite natural...

Try germany, there are a few more people around here, who know it, as it is, well, a german game (though there is an english-language version of it "The Dark Eye", which was not very successful, I believe).

Basically every roleplayer here has at least heard of "Das Schwarze Auge".

I know it too. I also played the computer game on 386. Yes, that was ages ago.

Voted "Happy Player" as I prefer playing to DMing, but I'm probably "Iron GM" as well (though 5 minutes might be a tad short, depending on the game ;)).

I will play any game even if im not familiar with it, as long as the others playing dont mind me asking questions about the rules and such. If I am GMing a game I like at least a week to familiarize myself with rules before I attempt it.

is option 2 "I’ll play, but not GM, the wrong" edition?
I'd never buy the wrong editition.

there was a french version too called l'Oeil Noir, and a gamebook series of the same name iirc.

I'll play pretty much anything the group puts in front of me. Only exceptions to this are Palladium (anything) and some of the very complex systems like Rolemaster where player mastery of the system is expected. I don't like DMing third ed (which I think is the crux of the poll) but I'll cheerfully play in a campaign. I'm looking forward to DMing my first 4E game though.

When it comes to other games I'm a bit more picky with what I'll GM. The list consists of:

Castles and Crusades, Shadowrun 4 (I'll play earlier editions), Paranoia, Dark Heresy, A Song of Ice and Fire (the end result is so cool I'll put up with awkward mechanics) and a homemade spinoff of Shadowrun 4 that turns it into a space opera.
