I'd say it's the German equivalent to D&D. I think it might actually appeal to some people who like highly complex rules, and an eloberate setting, and don't want to focus on combat. Not that you couldn't run hack & slash with it, but I've got the impression that it's better to avoid too much contact with the rules.Scribble said:Wow... You're the only other person I've ever "met" that knows of that game... I have a module (err wait they call them adventures now right) for that game I bought in Germany..
I really don't like it. I tried, I have the most recent core rulebook, but it's just not my taste. I am a power-gamer, butt-kicker, tactician, whatever. I like killing monsters and taking their stuff. D&D or Shadowrun is far more to my liking.
The adventures aren't that bad. They make some good intrigue, investigation and exploration stuff. They just need a little more... violence.
Though my impressions are a bit colored by the fact that the most recent adventures we tried where for beginners and thus light on rules and combat.
