How long do you wait for Fluid?

Yet again I go to Fluid's site just to find it still down.
I had thougth that they may be back up last week, but you know how that worked out. Am I the only one who's patients are wearing thin?

Doh!:D Apparently, I don't own a dictionary. Talk about having the wind knocked out of your sails. You win this round, fluid(grrr). I shall not edit my first post as a testament to my ignorance.

Still... There should have been some official post by now updating the old post of 8-13-02
------------------------------------------------------
"08.13.02 The messages boards are down for posting and replying.

Due to very, very heavy traffic, the eTools bulletin board is temporarily down. Reading messages, moderator functions and private messages are still working however.

To alleviate the problem, Fluid is in the process of moving to a new host. The new host has better (and faster!) server support for the things we need to run the message board.

We are on this upgrade path now, and hope to be live within a few days. Check back here on a daily basis to find out more about our progress.

Apologies to all the eTools fans for the temporary inconvenience!"

Well ive been going back daily looking for updates. Just as they asked. It would be nice if they would post some kind of news to let us know if they are still there even. Doesnt take that long to update a mesage. I understand how problems can come up. But if you tell folks to check back daily for progress updates Then at least follow through on it. I also know some individuals have had a little contact / info from them, but this means little realy. They need to show some official update, even if its "hey we are still here and trying, keep the faith" or something like that.
Just my opinion.
Peace.

what i don't understand is this...
it takes all of 10minutes to setup a ezboard message board thats free...yes its not on their site, yes it would have popup adds..

but couldn't they just do that..put the link to the ezboard on their page as a temp site till they get their server problems resolved...
Having no boards for what 3 weeks now? is just rediculous.

How long?

As long as it takes.

I have been unemployeed for the past 6 months.

I have interviewed with a dozen companies (up to 2nd and 3rd interviews), only not to get a full time job. I have got a part time job with the possibility of it becoming full time, but how long will that take?

As long as it takes.

Never pray to God for patience, the lesson of learning it is not an easy one.

Anyway, I posted over at Wizards - Fluidnet.com is still being hosted by Earthlink. My hope is that the "mid-sept" is next week that the Wizard's customer service have been stating.

Hey Therigwin...ya think that statement "As long as it takes." will keep the bill collectors off my back?:D I do sympathise with you on the job front though...I just got some full time employment (if you can call it that!) through a temp agency last week. Hope everything works out for you!

As to the matter of the Fluid boards, I have to agree with everyone else on the point that someone from Fluid should at least post a quick note (either here or on the DnD Boards<preferably both!:p >) letting people know what's going on. I'd like to think that Scott and the rest are so busy working on the first patch, that they forgot to update us (or fix the boards)...but that's just me - a silly dreamer:o .

No, it wont keep the bill collectors off your back ;)

But I do agree that I am willing to wait "as long as it takes" in many senses.

How long will I wait for new patches - "as long as it takes" to get the program working as they promised, the 3 core rule books including templates, materials, classes and prestige classes working properly. (I have to closely monitor my druids so they don't pull a fast one on me and get one of the legendary animals I have entered as a 1st level character)

I do agree that I am frustrated with Fluid right now on not posting anything. But I also take this spin.

It is feasible that when they decided to switch ISP, Earthlink deactivated their account to update their pre-existing webpages, so they can't put an update there. Then they are stalling doing the domain transfer to the new host. But this is all hypothetical, but it is one of the few thoughts true or untrue that I comfort myself with.

Let it be a lesson to you, if you go to own a domain name, register it yourself and don't let your ISP do it. That way you can switch in about 1 day with no problems.

So, hoping tomorrow that we get any news.

Oh, and I would love to even get a IT job in a temp agency or contract, but they can pick from the cream of the crop as well. The bad part is right now Grand Rapids, MI has the 2nd highest unemployment rate in the State of MI and people continue to move here. But hey, it is a great place to live and I am unwilling to move, so I will make do with my part time job. (Which is a great job, just wish it was full time)

Edited for Grammer, but there are still probably some mistakes.
