How many dice do you own?

I stopped counting after 100. That was fifteen years ago. I have no idea anymore (while cleaning the basement last month I discovered a box of a couple hundred I had forgotten about)

And yes I am only counting my own, not the store's.

Had to custom make a vinyl bag just to fit 'em all, with room to spare. Buuuuut I don't think I need anymore.

I once played a powerful-but-wonderfully-well-thought-out Saiyan conversion for Rifts.. unfortunately, fully charged at 15th level, putting all his power into one blast, I was looking at something like 40000d6 damage. GM wanted me to roll 'em all at once. Afterwards, we made a nice mosaic pattern for the bathroom walls and most of the floors...



Ok, closest I actually got was calculating that, in such a hypothetical situation, one would need enough dice to fill a small garage or something like that.. I only own 40 dice (a few sets, and some extra).

I have somewhere in the range of 50 myself, but I just wanted to share this tidbit:

A player I got into the gaming world ten years ago has only 1 set of 8 dice for dnd and 12 10-siders for white wolf--these are the only dice he's ever purchased, which was 10 frickin' years ago !!!

I probably have in the 2000-3000 range, and I have been gaming for 21 years. I have tons of dice nobody has every heard of, including ones that look like puke, d5's, d7's, d16's, d30's, d50's, d100's, and even a set for d10,000! Also alignment dice, critical hit dice, hit location dice, fumble dice, noise dice, wandering monster dice, a round d6 with a ball bearing in it, etc.

I have 8 sets, but tend to only use one during a game (yes, different characters use different colors & the purple glittery ones are for when I'm the GC).

My husband has a separate dice collection of his own & each of our kids has dice... so the household total is up there, but we keep them seqestered to avoid mingling luck and those millions of annoying tiny dice.

Like many people...

I used to have many...... At one time I had about 500 of those tiny 5 millimeter 6 siders... they were great for armies! but, like many things in my life... misplaced! lol

I am down to a solid 6 sets of dice now... but two of them are expensive... Crystal Caste hemetite and malachite...
