How much would this magic item cost?

Hi Everyone,

What would be a book value for a cloak that has these magical properties?

1. Functions as permanent Righteous Might effect when worn.

2. Allows the wearer to enter and exit the Shadow Realm once per month upon command.

If I left anything out that may need to be considered in the price, let me know! Thanks in advance.

Hi tennyson,
I don't have my books with me, but I would for for the following (from mind):
1. permanent Righteous Might would cost 2000 gp times spell level squared so 5 squared times 2000 for a sum of 50000 gp.
2. I would go for the spell Plane shift twice per month (to shadow realms and back). Plane Shift is a 7th level spell, so 5 times per day would be 1800 gp times 7 (spell level) times 13 (minimum caster level) for a sum of 163800 gp. A once per day use would be 32760 gp. For twice per month I would reduce it further to 1/5th, so we look at a cost of 6552 gp.
Calculating the total cost: 50000 gp for Righteous Might plus 6552 gp * 2 (doubled for additional function) gives a total of 63104 gp. Cost to create is 31552 gp and 2524,16 xp (don't know what to do with the fraction, by the rules it would be rounded down to a flat 2524 xp).

strictly by the book your right. But the price for items giving always on effects of 1/rounds per level spells is to low. If you use the "by the book price"

My rule of thumb is that items emulating spelleffects lasting 1/hour and 10/min per level is the listed price. 1/min per level is double price. 1/round per level is 4 times the standard price.

That look good.
But I think that a big deal of common sense is required when pricing magic items. And no matter how good a charter you have there will always be some items that breaks the pricing formula.

I like to look at "what does this do for me", and that is that worth compared with other already priced items.

And if I think "this item seems to cheap" then it probably is. Not all items are meant to be made IMO.

If you go by the rules Firzair then you do not square the spell level. Yuo multiply the spell level by the caster level.

So you get 5*9(minimum caster level)*2.000=90.000
