I put in 'Never' but that's not quite true. It's happened a couple of times but far less than '25% of the time'. It's a very, very rare thing.

Like some others, I voted 25%, but actually it is closer to about 10%, maybe even less.

I find that Antimagic is great as a rare and interesting problem to get around, rather than as a constant.

I voted never but the real answer is once.

I'm not counting the field that took down every magical aura present when you passed through it (including magic items), but you could use spells within it and everything came back up when you left. (If I was, that'd make it twice).

Not yet. I'm working on something that I hope is worthy of rat-bastardliness, though. I just have to wait until the party seems to be really dependant on their kewl magic to spring it...

Using it too often is unfair, I think. It nerfs casters and most other people nearly as bad off.

I said 25%, but really less. I usually don't plan antimagic except as part of a wizards spell list... and most wizards don't use it because they rely on magic.

Generally, the most common occurances of antimagic is beholders or when I am running undermountain.

Quite true. In both cases, the player who used the spell in my game was a cleric, and the wizard always swings wide of such effects, staying far away and lobbing damage in from afar.

I selected Never because, generally, my players experienced a TPK long before getting to the level where they, or even their opponents, would have access to such.

I voted 25% but it's prolly more like 5%-10% of the time, and nearly always only in the high-level game I run (the halfling party is 1st-2nd level).

Never, so far, in 20+ years of gaming.
I had it set up for this sunday, but our heroes killed off the big bad guy last sunday, so the minion with the anti magic field is not going to show up.
Sometimes around summer our heroes are going into a beholder lair.
If they don't get side tracked.

More later,
