I'm 51. A cousin ran one session for me with the original white box. A different cousin ran "In Search of the Unknown." Then I bought the blue box in 1977 or 78 and started DM'ing for my friends.

I'm 46. Started playing RPGs back in 1983 in 3rd grade.
Started playing with a friend's copy of the "Blue Book" D&D but really got going the next year (4th grade) with TSR's "Star Frontiers". Played the heck outta that for a number of years before picking up the "Red Box" until AD&D.
Good memories! I still have that battered and well-loved boxed set of Star Frontiers.
