How to get a personalized e-mail.

First Post
Hi there.

I just finished film school and right now I'm designing a business card for myself and a couple of fellow students.

However, something @ yahoo.com doesn't look particularly professional so I'm wanting to get an e-mail address where I can decide myself what comes after the @ such as myname @ film.com or something similarly unoriginal :).

I've looked around a bit (emphasis on 'a bit' I must say), but the sheer amount of available sites is intimidating. So I'm hoping to find one that's reputable and reliable.

I don't mind paying for it. Right now my main concern is to get a personalized e-mail that I can put on our business cards.

So if anyone knows a place where I can get this please share your knowledge and I might just make a good movie based on a good computer game before Uwe Boll gets a chance to.

I bought my own domain via GoDaddy.com. They gave me something like 100 e-mail addresses for my domain, which I could then set up to auto-forward to another e-mail address if I wanted, or to manage via their own e-mail service.

Wasn't terribly expensive, IIRC.

With Yahoo, you can pay extra for the business services mail which lets you use yourname@domain.com

Google Apps for Domain does the same thing for free.

You can also sign up a hosting account. I use arvixe.com. They are pretty good as long as you don't require much babysitting (no phone support, etc).

Of course, you need a domain name to use any of these services.
