HQ: The 'Ready Lounge'

gauntlet

Gauntlet gives Maddy a quick roll of the eyes before moving to get himself something to drink. He fumbles with one of the glasses, nearly shattering it, before settling on a larger, safer plastic tumbler for his soda, which he pours from a 3-litre bottle from the nearvy fridge.

As he does so he replies to Marie.

"Well I am not sure of exact... er design. I... did not making myself this way. But I seem capable of firing rounds in the fifty caliber range. Nothing I'd ever want to use on a person mind you."

He takes a sip of his soda.

"Ahhh... Coca Cola... not always so easy to find where I am from, da? Anyway..."

He holds his arm out to Marie, closer inspection reveals that there does not seem to be any flesh inside those arms of his. It as if someone ripped off the man's arms and replaced them with these inhumanly large, bulky devices. There is a soft click followed by a loud clank and of of the guns rises up from its semi-concealed port.

"Doctors say is wired to my nerves. I think and it works. Had to practice hard to learn... what is word... "right thoughts" to use to avoid hurting anyone."

Gauntlet blinks.

"I am sorry, but I was not catching your name?"

Nimbus looks up from her drawing, looking at Maddy in shock at this girl's extreme rudeness. Shaking her head, she looks back down at her paper, trying to continue to draw. But this was just getting to be too much.

Maria smiled at Gus "Dont worry about it. I've seen stranger things. I can talk to doors, remember? Just warn me when you do something like that."

As Gauntlet showed off his arm's internals, she stared in wide eyed fangirl glee. "I THINK that's a M2 Derivative, although I cant ID the exact type. There's the cooling chamber I think. Did they say what sort of ammo it was? Hot loaded per chance? Oh, I'm Marie, hi. Wow! I can't ID this ammo feed system at ALL. That's GREAT! Do you have to clean it every day? What sort of lubricants?"

Without flash or fanfare, a young woman dressed in military uniform suddenly appears in the entry chamber. She speaks cripsly, "Eversti Ulla-Maria Wallenius" and as the door to the room opens she walks in. She seems young, perhaps 18 or 19, and is a petite woman, barely 5ft, yet lithe and graceful in her movements. She walks quietly to an empty chair and sits down.

"Funny, I rarely understand my dreams" Ron says a his face dropping at the mention of the robots.

He offers a wave at Ulla=Maria.

Gus returns the smile. The result is grotesque, but sincere. "It is... like reflex. Difficult to control. I shall do my best to warn, though."

"I thank you for being gracious. It is rare gift."

Gus nods slowly, considering this. "That is nice irony, yes? Perhaps your dreams are having sense of humor?"
