Humanoid strength

What humanoid race has the highest strength score? by humanoid I mean the Type Humanoid as listed in the creature's entry, not necessarily just having a bipedal humanlike form.

Also, does monstrous humanoid count as humanoid, specifically for those templates which say they can be applied to any humanoid creature?

Thanks!

Bugbear, gnoll, and orc; no.

Does that include non-core products such as the Creature Collections?

No, just the MM. Anything else would be too time consuming. :)

There are 3 Humanoids in the MM with Str 15 and one with Str 14. If you find anything beyond this, it's your answer.

IIRC tha arctic dwarves in Monsters of Faerûn have Str 16. (But maybe it was 15.) That's huge, especially since they are Small.

In the same book, I don't remember if the Alaghi (wookie clones) are humanoid or monstrous humanoids. They do have an awesome Strength, I think around 18.

The Creature Collection contains lots of critters with high Str score, however, the type categories were a bit blurred in its designers' eyes at that time. There's lots of humanoid/monstrous humanoid confusion, and even more animal/beast/magical beast/vermin confusions.

Arctic Dwarves have a strength of 16. That's the highest for a humanoid in either of the WotC monster books. Monsters of Faerun also has the Stingtail Asabi, which has a strength of 15, and the Shalarin, which has a strength of 14.

These are Monstrous Humanoids.

Sorry, you don't win anything. I was specifically looking for Humanoids. :) I was trying to see if it was possible for a lycanthropic creature to have greater strength than a fire giant (at 31). Doesn't look like it is though, if you use the average stats from the creature.

Thanks all!

how about a minotaur? or has that been said?

why not use a fir giant as a base creature for lycanthropy- it can inflicted youknow....
