"I add my strength to my breath." "Your breath is strong?"

Do Dragonborns move away from the enemy to breath in?

I like the idea of Dragonborn choosing the main stat for the breath. It's something more against the MAD problem.

How to defeat a breath user, a number of ways.

A poison tablet, that hinders the ability to produce the things required for breath attacks. The use of such of a poison was first done by the great assassin Ticarius, known as the Ticarius Attack. Since then, it has been shortened to tic-tac, and proves to be the bane of evil breath everywhere.

A special paste, first created by a cleric under a forgotten god. The paste was sold with the diety's crest, but since then the packaging has simply said "CREST" in common on the side. Crest Complete is a special kind, suppressing a breath weapon for 24 hours.

Not as difficult as you think, especially since you wouldn't need the ionized path.

Remember, the lightning breath weapon is a blast now, not a line or a single target. The dragonborn is spraying a 15 foot by 15 foot area with lightning... Since you aren't aiming at a single target or in a particular direction, you don't need the ion channel to direct the lightning bolt.

Good Point!

I'd forgotten it was a blast. That does make it much easier. No direction necessary.

What's all this about blue dragonborn? Give the bronze some love!
Whoa there, come back next Monster Manual. Wait, no, it'll have to be Draconomicon II: Metallic Dragon(born)s.

OTOH, it's not hard to bronze baby shoes; how hard can it be to dunk a dragonborn?
