I despise leftovers

Tinker Gnome

Adventurer
Am I the only one who absolutely despisses most leftover food? The only exceptions are Pizza and Lasagna. The rest I hate with a passion. The worst is holiday food leftovers like turkey and ham. Which unfortunately I am eating right now due to having nothing else to eat, ugggh.

I am a left overs man. Many times I'll just waner and pick up the odd small piece of left overs. Strangly enough cold sausage, to me, taster better then warm.

You kidding? Holiday leftovers are a sacred alchemy.

A piece of good bread, leftover turkey, and a healthy dose of gravy. Heat gently in a single pan, and you will produce Joy.

the trick with leftovers is knowing how to prepare them. Placing them in the microwave is usually not the way to do it.

Yeah, it took me years to learn this. The microwave just turns food into warm rubber. I just heated up a big platter of rice, lamb, and stuffed grape leaves in the oven - 400 degrees for about 20 minutes, and it came out great. If you microwave that stuff, it gets all dry and nasty.

Regardless, I still prefer food that is more fresh. I will have to try other methods of cooking leftovers other than the microwave, but that is usually all that is available to me.

given the choice I perfer food that is not left overs as well. But to do that either means I only prepare enough for one meal which can be a pain, or I throw away food, which gets expensive. So, I started to experiment with different ways to reheat and reprepare food.

It it's chicken, rise, sliced meat or pizza it's actually better as leftovers. And it tastes even better if you don't re-heat it. I'm crazy for cold pizza. :D

I, like Ferret, am a left-overs man, and I'm lucky that Mrs. arnwyn is a great cook.

Indeed - but that's not what you said in your original post. I think everyone "prefers" food that is more fresh...
