This sounds exactly like Gift of Tongues from Races of Faerûn.

Except Gift of Tounges is an elf only feat. I think this one is for everyone. It may not have the +1 to decipher script or sense motive checks.

The Sunmasters. I'm a little curious about this now. Are they specifically worshippers of Amaunator or are they also allowed to be clerics of Lathander at the start?

They are considered a sect within the church of Lathander.

I'm assuming a prerequisite is the Servant of the Fallen. Are there specific prerequisites to this feat and are there any benefits of taking this (other than not ending up in the Wall...) What's the overall flavor of the Sunmaster PrC and if you don't mind, could you describe the requirements?

The feat allows you a +1 luck bonus on a roll once per day.

Prerequisites for the PrC are: any lawful, Servant of the Fallen feat, knowledge: history 8 ranks, knowledge: geography 4 ranks, knowledge: religion 4 ranks, speak language: Loross, ability to cast 2nd level spells, Law and Sun domains and you must own a symbol of Amaunator either personally recovered from a ruined temple or given to you by an existing sunmaster.

The PrC gives full spellcasting progression and some nify abilities like fire resistance, glowing eyes (and a searling light spell-like ability), an additional domain (Planning), the ability to prepare Sun and Law spells as cleric spells and the 10th level ability is sunform. Think gaseous form with a fiery touch attack!

Overall, I like the class but I've liked Amaunator since I used a temple to him as a major dungeon adventure in a campaign I ran when 3.5E first came out.

Thanks Eremite. Much appreciated. Knowing that and the fact that I've been wanting to play a worshipper of Amaunator for awhile, I think this is a definate purchase from the FLGS rather than Amazon. :D

Thanks

From the "Becoming a Sunmaster" paragraph: "Clerics, especially former Lathanderites, are best suited to take the role of sunmaster."
Yes, Servant of the Fallen is an entry requirement. Basically, you can either start as cleric of Amaunator from the start or change your patron (or realize that Lathander is Amaunators reincarnation, as the Sunmaster sees it) in between.

Servant of the Fallen simply lets you choose a dead deity as patron and receive divine spells from it, as well as avoid the Wall. (plus the stuff that Eremite said)

The Class is rather martial, as you get law and sun spells as regular cleric spells (not right away, though). Get fire res and some sun-related abilities (including sunform).

Excellent. Still in at 7th if I can convince my DM to let me swap out Skill Focus (Knowledge Arcana) for Iron Will. Now I just need to work with him for my character to learn of the Olin Gisir (assuming they are not common knowledge), and convince them to let me join.

You don't have to learn of them. They learn of you. Olin Gisiae monitor prospective members for some time (ignoring those seeking power and glory), and, if they respect the secrets, are contacted and offered training.

Kae Yoss, I am grateful for your review of the book, and I will be buying it, based on what has been said here. But finally, out of a rating from 1 to 5, what do you give it?

Auppenser: enlightenment, psionics, serenity

Information on this guy, please! This may be psionics only hope of having a foothold in Faerun! lol

Seriously, about damn time they have a psionic deity other than stupid derro god, whatever the god's name was. Or by trying to unofficially throw in Sardior.

New to 3.5E you mean. ;)
Well, none of those creatures BOZ referred to was in an official 3.0 source, so they are new to 3rd Edition completely.

KaeYoss, thanks again for answering our questions! :)
