I got to playtest Castles and Crusades!

Well, I'll be happy to read some reviews of the game once people are no longer bound by the NDA, as it seems the NDA is preventing anything but the most obtuse discussion of this product. All I can gather now is that it's a dessert topping AND a floor wax.

C&C is also a cheap imitation cola sold in the Northeast

Even though being a NDA signer I am not a big fans like Fiff and others. I say take a close look at the game it has potential if its is what you are looking for. Heck I may not get the C&C core rules, I know I'll get Castle Zagyg when it comes out. So give it a shot. I know the Troll Lords are trying to produce a quality product.

As for Fif and others limited commentary. Yes, they can say very little, very very little. We here just can not figure what we want to let out of the bag yet. However, our law man (Mac Attack the Noodle Knacker) is working on it.

In any respect, more information will be coming in the weeks ahead. The official release is Gen Con Indy which is only 4 or so months away.

Ah...no. Not even close.

C&C is being designed by the Troll Lords and the Castles and Crusades playtesters. C&C is being designed, in part, so Gary has a system to write Zagyg for.

Thanks for the help. I don't think buzz or anyone else is trying to impugn Fiff or anyone else; it's just a symptom of the fact that the NDA players have to talk in roundabout circles to get their point across. Watching Fiff and buzz objectively, it's like watching person A trying to convince person B to show up for his own surprise birthday party.

Actually, I do believe it was said that info will soon be provided stating what the NDA signators could talk about.

There are rapidly moving lil house elves even now compiling such info.

I am play-testing the material sans NDA but of course I am not about to speak out of school

I have done a couple of game session reports, and Steve liked them, has posted them on the TLG boards, I believe, so those interested might want to eyeball them. Although they are mostly about the Yggsburgh setting, they do reflect the C&C game system in play, and will continue on a weekly basis for a while anyway as the campaign here progresses.

Heh. Probably the best way to put it. Definitely not trying to cast "dispersions" (sic).

An easier explanation might have been: "I can't go into detail becuase of the NDA, but I'm having a lot of fun with C&C. It's proving to be very modular and tweakable, all without losing the old-school feel it's trying to recapture. You'll find it mixes the best aspects of contemporary and classic D&D."

It also wouldn't have sounded as critical of other games (e.g., "detached designers"). Granted, Fiff is not a representative of TLG, so he can say whatever he wants.

I just get defensive when disagreements start over something we are producing. Fiff can say whatever he wants for sure, I just didn't want anyone thinking poorly of him as he is so limited in what he is allowed to say.

Hopefully I will get off my duff today and slowly start getting things caught up over here and cleared up so we can talk about more things.
