Explorer
Yep, you read that right! I have another computer problem that I don't know how to fix. Basically anytime I try to use Internet Explorer's EXE it doesn't start up. It seems to work fine when I view html files and such, but trying to go through the exe just doesn't cut it. When I try it and use the Ctrl-Alt-Delete keys to see whats running, it shows Iexplorer running then its gone. It seems a bit slow when working but that might be the modem acting up or the computer is low on resources.
Had some problems with a few viruses changing my startup page and other problems and other things, but I've managed to fix those myself. So it might be because of that, but I'm not sure.
I've tried virus and adware scanners (AVG 6.0 and Ad-Aware 6.0, respectively), but nothing comes up. Just before I posted this, I tried the adware scanner and it froze halfway through, but I did do a scan a few days ago on the system folders and other such items.
I also looked online for anything and I found something about "Local_Host" in the registry or some other system important file, and thought that it could be that, but I don't know where to find it.
I haven't tried reinstalling IE yet, casue I'm not sure what plugins I have for it. I might switch to a different browser, I've heard of Netscape's browser, Mozilla, Opera (I think), but I don't know whats good.
My computer is on Win98 2nd Ed. and I hope the solution doesn't need a CD cause my drive is shot.
