You obviously failed your will save and were unable to turn off the TV or change the channel. As you progress in levels as a TVite, your save vs. crappy show will improve. :)

Jessica Simpson - looks good, not very bright but in a funny way.

I blame all that have made her one of the most searched names on the Internet, see this is the result! Oh, the humanity! :D

Aye, a quick wit and a steely will might have allowed you to take advantage! I found the machinations of the Evil Gods of Television an unexpected boon, for their sinister maneuverings inadvertantly enabled me to watch (most of) the first ep of Band of Brothers again, and yet still get to see the new Alias. Ha-ha! Critical hit! Flee, you foul beasts of prime-time programming!

Yes indeed. The sinister gods of TV have no limit to their greed. Thankfully, I took a feat that allows me a second saving throw when their banal, mind-numbing adds appear on the sceen. I too have been mezmerized into a stupor by a godawful TV shows. Help helpless in front of the TV by the sheer horror of it. For someviewers you can actually see their IQ dropping as they watch, and the advertisements seem more and more plausible, and they are thus more susceptible to purchasing anything to escape the TV. Failed saving throw, must buy useless item to escape bad show. :]

Oh dear...
I ended up seeing the last half hour or so. I also really enjoyed it. I found some of it funny. The music was even pretty good. I am almost sure that it was a one shot thing, and not going to be a weekly show.

I enjoyed watching this too. Yes, some of the comedy skits were very predictable, but despite this they were entertaining. Ending the skits when the joke was over helped a lot. (Unlike SNL).

The show did not take itself too seriously and that helped a lot. And it was 10 times better (no, a hundred times better) than your average reality show.

Let me repeat that: It was waaaaaaaaaaay better than any number of reality shows.

And, OMG, I never new Jessica Simpson had such fabulous breasts!

Just so some board members don't misunderstand the Variety Hour:
That thing was big- it had the support of many celebrities, and any show where the MUPPETS appear on is what I would consider an "acceptable" show, or a show that has pull.

BTW: it looks to have done quite well. I think that proves that many members here are not in touch with what mainstream America is looking for in entertainment (no offense).
The "Nick & Jessica Variety Hour" won the 9 p.m. hour with a 6.7/11 and ranked as the night's most watched program among adults 18-49.

And you think we did not already know this?

Puh-lease

I am not into mainstream American entertainment hence I play D&D and other games.

Sorry, but it was a weird surreal show that I did not watch but as I flipped by I saw good singing and poorly delivered comedy (IMHO), I am glad it was wholesome enough fo rthe muppets, I like the muppets!
