D&D (2024) I just got a 2024 PHB From Gen Con. AMA!

I think I caught it in one of the flip-through videos, and it looked the same to me.

@DavyGreenwind Can you confirm that there's no witty little disclaimer on the credits page? Also, is there still a trinkets table in the equipment section? They appear to have removed most of the quirky little fun things that were in the 2014 PHB, and I just want to see if there are any left ... :(
Yeah, and talking of little fun things, does the fact that conditions are merged into the glossary mean that we've lost all the amusing illustrations of them?

Trinkets are much earlier, they are in the ToC for the Character Creation overview chapter.

It seems that way. The pic Davy posted upthread makes it look like the conditions are presented in a basic two-column list and are only elaborated on in the bigger rules glossary. I will miss all the amusing little pencil illustrations sprinkled throughout the book, along with things like the personal characteristics from the backgrounds, the amusing disclaimers from the credits page, and so on.

EDIT: I can confirm that the pencil illustration of the pointy-hatted gnome wizard pointing to a blackboard displaying the different AOE spell shapes is still in the book! I don't know if any of the others are, though.

That's an interesting place to put them, but I'm glad to hear they're still in the book!

I was also pleased to see that they kept some of the funnier options in the wild magic table (like turning into a pot plant) but also removed some of the "bad" ones (like fireballing yourself).

I know they talked about adding crafting rules for the various crafting kits, but have they included any detail rules on the other toolkits? In particular, are there any rules on the use of the Disguise Kit?

Each toolkit includes a short list of things you can make with it. IIRC the disguise kit listed costumes as something you could make.

The entries don’t provide as much detail as the ones in Xanathar’s did (so no list of what’s in each kit, for instance). Each entry does list the cost of the kit, though.

@DavyGreenwind in one of the preview videos, I caught a glimpse of some pages with the new character sheet design with the different bits marked or numbered. I presume there is an accompaying key explaining how to read the sheet or something and that's why it's labeled?

The tool list is really unimpressive. Example...

Alchemist's Supplies (Int), Identify a substance (DC15), start a fire (DC 15), craft acid and alchemist's fire
Disguise Kit (Cha), apply makeup (DC10), craft costume

Does pact of the Tome let you choose new rituals each time you summon it (i.e. each short rest)?
Or just once you get the feature?

Oh, I saw this, when I was keeping an eye out for things that could use clarification.

'Conjure a book at the end of a rest.'
'When the book appears choose the spells in it.'

So yeah, switch around as you wish... though I wish it was clearer, just by adding 'every time you conjure the book'.
