I love the Internet

I think the cyberpunk genre is the one that got closer; though they missed on the man/machine interfacing. For now. :p

It is being worked on! Blind people can allready see through lightsensors, and deaf people can hear though machines hooked to their hearing nerves.

So how long can it take before someone invents a neural dice roller that intstantly rolls any number of any type of die and projects the result on a projector-screen

It'll start becoming really interesting when the light sensors hooked to your nervers become better than actual eyes, small enough to fit into an eyesocket, and capable of infrared vision... and it's going to happen sooner or later. Technology is much faster than evolution, after all.

The real weirdness would be wireless internet attached to your brain, though. Basically, granting telepathy and limited quasi-omniscience. I don't have a clue as to how that would change society.
Probably, people would take computer security more seriously. :D

Since 99% of people would simply use it to surf porn sites 24/7, I don't think the changes would be for the better ;)
