I Need Simple Spaghetti Recipes!

Peanut Butter.

Cook noodles. Melt peanut butter in microwave (or whatever). Mix.

Cheap fake Thai. ;)

I've done this before with ramen noodles.

For best results use chunky peanut butter. For a little bit of kick add in a dash or two of Sriracha ("Rooster" sauce) into the melted peanut butter.

Which reminds me...

Pseudo Lo Mein

Take left over spaghetti noodles and pan fry them with a couple spoonfuls of peanut oil and a generous dousing of soy sauce. Add in any left-over bits of vegetables or meat you have in the fridge, and stir fry until hot.

Thanks for all the replies so far.

Noe for the stupid question; how do you fry noodles? This would be important to know as I've never fried anything.

Sorry... :o Frying is just cooking something in a shallow pan with a little oil to keep it from sticking to the pan.

A little more detail...

Heat up a frying pan on medium-high heat for a few minutes. Once it's good and hot, drop in a spoonful or or two of oil and swirl it around to coat the pan. Put a bunch of already-cooked noodles (I usually just use some leftovers) into the pan, and stir them around a bit a wooden spatula or spoon to get them coated with oil -- if you let them sit too long in one place, they'll get scorched. Squirt in a few spoonfuls of soy sauce -- just enough to turn the noodles slightly brown -- and keep stirring. Then toss in any veggies or meat you want to add in. Did I mention keep stirring?** Once everything's hot, take it off the heat... It's done.

**That is, after all, why they call it "stir fry". ;)

This goes against all the traditional cooking-rules but it works so I'll post it :D.
Add seasonings (salt, pepper, basil, ketchup etc.) and let it boil for a while stirring gently. You should have a thick minced meat sauce.

That's my quick'n'easy bolognese sauce.

There is a proper way of doing this also, but this works for the times when you couldn't bother about doing things the hard way :D

Simplest recipe I know - and use.
Cook spaghetti or any other noodle-derivate.
Add a small piece of butter (spoon) and sugar.

KETCHUP in pasta?? SUGAR in pasta??
Man, oh man....please don't! Please, please don't! :.-(

...Eh... I knew I shouldn't have entered this thread as an Italian :D

He didn't ask for "good authentic" spaghetti recipes, though I've got plenty of those too... He asked for "simple" recipes "that won't take all day". This is short cut "bachelor" food. ;) Making bachelor food that actually tastes decent can be nearly as tricky as cooking the full-blown recipe. Don't knock it too much.

On that note...

Fast, Fast Meatballs

Mix one package of stuffing mix (Stove-Top stuffing, for example) with one large egg and two pounds hamburger by hand until the stuffing crumbs become soft. Roll onto golfball-sized balls, place on a cookie sheet, and bake in a 350deg oven for about 20-30 minutes, until golden brown.

Don't take it badly. Every nation has its fixations...
Ketchup spaghetti and sweet pasta were just too much for my feeble mind ^_^

Anyway, trying to be helpful: saying this might come out as ridiculous since it is obvious, but since once i actually saw a girl from the USA doing it, and the OP didn't know ho to fry, it might make some sense:
DO NOT put pasta in the water before it boils, even if you're in a hurry. It is NOT the same. The most important thing about pasta is its consistence, so you actually want to taste it a couple of times to see if it's properly cooked (not raw, but not too cooked either. It shouldn't be soft or slightly sticky).
Buon appetito! :)

Oh, no... I understand completely. I'm all German and Austrian, and I die just a little bit inside when I see someone eating a sausage with any condiment other than mustard.

In fact, it's a good rule of thumb all around. With very few exceptions, always make sure that what you're cooking with is hot before you put your food in it. The water always should be boiling first, ovens, pans and grills should always be pre-heated.
