Hey,

Anyone here ever submit a query for Dragon to Paizo? Ever get a reply? 'Cause we never did. Is that usual? Do they just not write back?

Any popular company with an established publishing record gets umpteen millions of submissions.

Don't take it personally if you don't get a response, just rewrite it, work hard, and submit it again.

What do you want them to say? "Thank you for your submission but it does not fit with the theme for this issue ... yadda, yadda, yadda ... we'll let you know when we'll use it"?

They got to do that for millions and millions of submissions, and at the same time put together the next issue. I hate to be the guy to send out that many notices, even if it's email.

When did you submit? Their response times are all over the place, particualrly with the change in editorial teams a few months back, so some stuff got lost in the mix. I had a bunch of replies just before that happened, but I'm still waiting on stuff I submitted before then (and that's around, what, four months ago).

If it's been a while (IE, months), you might want to consider giving them a gentle nudge, but keep in mind they tend to be busy.

Actually, I would like to know how many. It CAN"T be millions. I would be amazed if it was thousands. :)

Shouldn't matter how many subs they get. Any publishing company, no matter the size, should send a response, even if it's just a form letter rejection.

Send a query and ask then what the status is. Assuming it has been beyond their published response time.

Thanks guys. It was months ago, so perhaps we will send another query. I realise they get many queries, but so do film festivals, and they send automatic rejections. We weren't offended, just wondering if our query was lost.

Thanks,

PS: I write good is a joke
