D&D 5E [IC] Adventures in Ashwell: The Edge of Dispater

Ersarkess nods and chants oldest obeissance he can remember from his bardic stories. Even if it doesn't quite fit the context, Thael feels threads of inspiration lifting his spirit.

The bard bows and steps back before turning and releasing the boy. He then observes what happens while wrapping back the nets into near packages.

The thing slides off the girls head in a tentacled mess... and immediately slides under your attempt to capture it into an attempt to grapple Thael. The creatures tentacles hit, dealing 4 points of psychic damage and Thael is now grappled. The girl lets out a brief scream as it happens and then passes out.

The girl is unconscious and still chained to the wall. Her head is intact.

OOC: Up to you all how you want to react. It seems like it's about to restrain Thael.

OOC: Thael's hp are at 3/10

Thael is startled by the attack, and his elven reflexes kick in as he attempts to escape the artifact's grapple.

OOC: DC10 concentration check for concentration on guidance [roll0]

I'm assuming an Acrobatics check is required to escape the grapple: [roll1] plus [roll2] if the above constitution check is successful

OOC: I'm fairly certain guidance would have ended with the persuasion check and need to be cast again.

Thael does not escape the grapple (with or without guidance).

OOC: He casts it all the time, and I thought it would be an ok assumption that the second he uses it, he casts it again. It doesn't matter much in this case anyway! I sure hope he makes it out ;-)

"Raghnall, take the thing and pull it, but keep the tentacles off you! I'm pulling Thael."

[roll0] - timing it to when the barbarian pulls the artifact

OOC: In this situation, and many others, what you'll likely see me do is just start combat and deal with it "party turn" "non-party turn". I do this because I find it easier on my mental overhead.
