Carradoc pushes up the lever, hoping that this will close the access to the stairway in the middle of the room and prevent any surprise visitors. He then rushes to check on his unconscious allies.
Dent wiped off Damien's blood on the warlock's tunic, then stood up. After moving aside so Aridha could minister to Damien, Dent walked back over to Qarbo. He knelt beside the dead priest and patted him down, searching for items of interest.
Qarbo's splint mail and the various other enemies plate mail seems brittle and soft after their deaths. Their various glaive's and morningstars seem undamaged.
Qarbo himself seems to carry at least two keys, a small one and a large one.
Dent pocketed the keys. He kicked the glaives and morningstars well away from their former bearers. The knight kicked at the plate mailand pursed his lips in chagrin as it disintegrated.
He looked up at his colleagues. "Nothing much, just a pair of keys on this one. We need a place to rest. I'm not sure this is it. I would have us leave."
OOC:
Does anything Dent comes across appear at first contact to be magical?
For the second time in as many minutes, Tolan awakens to the sight of the ceiling staring back at him. He sighs deeply and whispers to himself.
"I clearly have further yet to go."
He looks around and spots Aridha leaning over him to administer the healing spell that brought him back from the brink (this time). For a moment his gaze is unfocused as if he cannot remember where he knows her from, but then his eyes clear and he nods his thanks. Once again he hauls himself to his feet, looking weary beyond imagining. Looking around the room, he takes stock of the fallen. He assists Dent with gathering up anything of note from the priests and warrior.
"I feel concerns about raising alarms are well past, and we are in no condition to press on. It is time to make our retreat. Let them prepare for our return as they will, even as we prepare for a better assault."
OOC:
If Aridha is going to spend another slot healing Damien, then Tolan will help Dent carry loot. Otherwise he will carry the warlock.
"Agreed," says Carradoc. "If we wanted to stay, however, I can provide us a refuge for an hour that will let us recover. We'd still be inside, but we'd be safe for that long, and we can even observe and see what activity follows." He looks at the others, helping them to their feet where possible. "Or we can leave now, and never know."
