D&D 5E [IC] Egon's Lost Mine of Phandelver

You begin to move away from the chamber with the wolves, satisfied that they have been calmed sufficiently to not want to eat your arms and legs. Unfortunately, several of you have the stealth capabilities of elephants stepping on glass, and so the water in the stream splashes about louder than normal.

The passage from the cave mouth begins to climb rather steeply where Keira is at, the stream plunging and diving down the western bank deeper than it is at the entrance. In the shadows, a side passage leads west on the far side of the stream, climbing even higher into the cave. To the north, a rickety looking bridge spans what is quickly becoming a decent chasm, the path along the eastern wall shown to easily go under it. The bridge is a good 20 feet high, and made from what you believe is ratted rope and rotted wood.

But it isn't the bridge itself that gains your attention. There is a lone Goblin sentry, standing on the bridge and looking down directly at you; it seems your splashing about has gotten its undivided attention. It starts moving east along the bridge, your guess being that it is going for help of some kind.

OOC: Everyone roll initiative please. If any one of you beats the Goblin, you can all act.

OOC: Dude, your initiative rolls... I think a few of us beat that by default, LOL

Ana froze as she spotted the goblin and then moved to the small opening on the west bank of the stream. We're getting too sure of ourselves... Lining up a shot, she breathed out a muttered curse and let loose an arrow.

Keira scowls as her foot slips into the stream, dislodging a small shower of rocks. She had allowed the wolves to rattle her - too many memories of packs of stray dogs. Regaining her customary composure she quickly spies the goblin who had been alerted by her lapse. A dart was already leaving her hand, even as her mind parsed the situation.

OOC: initiative - [roll0]

Gonna safely assume we'll beat a three.

Object Interaction: draw dart
Action: throw dart at goblin.

attack - [roll1]
damage - [roll2]

HP: 9/9 AC: 15

Gnash reaches behind him and grabs a javelin from its sheath. Watching the practiced aim of his companions, he throws the javelin at the goblin, hoping to silence it before it can raise the alarm.

"Quickly, into this side passage. If the rest of the warren notices that sentry, we could be swarmed.". Gnash moves quickly into the opening to the west.

Endeavour, without a ranged weapon, proceeds along the path (out of the water) to below where the goblin had been positioned, ready to attack.

The barrage of missile weapons easily handles the Goblin, sending it to meet whatever maker it believes in quickly and without abandon. It drops onto the bridge, its blood oozing out of the multiple puncture wounds and dripping into the water below. Soon enough, you can see the streaking red in the water as it flows past you.

Endurance makes his way to be under the bridge, while Gnash scrambles up onto the western embankment. The area where Gnash is now situated is choked with rock and rubble, a ledge several feet above him leading to the next available escarpment. Your best guess is that the climb is about 10 or so feet up, but you aren't sure if the way up is stable enough to hold you; poking a finger or two into the rock shows that several stones can easily be picked loose. If you climb, you will have to be careful.

OOC: At this point, anyone who does not have darkvision must have a light source or you will be wholly unable to see. I know someone mentioned lighting a torch earlier, so I don't think it's a big deal.

And my initiative rolling is really bad.

"What path should we take from here?" Anastriana whispered, eyeing the rock ledge with some concern. "Leaving the dead watchman up there may be a problem..."

Keira nods at Anastriana's comment and considers the goblin and the walkway.

"Let's see if we can do something about that."

She walks over to Endurance standing below the bridge.

"Can I get a lift?"

OOC: Keira's going to see if she can get a boost to jump up and grab the bridge, hauling herself up before retrieving and passing down javelin, dart and dead goblin.

Endurance, hindered slightly by the poor light, handily helps Keira up, offering his hands and then a shoulder to stand on, if needed.
