Harb watched the scene unfold below him. Two of their allies had been carried away and another was still under attack. He considered his options for a moment and then took aim for the lizard carrying Tarri. Unfortunately, his shot was hampered by his attempt to avoid harming their cartographer further than she already had been.

And the moment his shot was released, he turned and continued further along the edge of the cliff, attempting to keep up with the pterafolk carrying Qawasha.

OOC: :O Is there a way for rodrigo to reach the Petrafolk carrying Qawasha or is it archery fire only? And if so, how high is the drop (ie is killing the petrafolk certain doom for Qawasha?)

Round 3

Dellrak continued to move along the top of the cliff as he reloaded his crossbow. He lifted it up and aimed it at the pterafolk that was flying off with Qawasha. “Oh no ye bluidy well dunnae,” the dwarf muttered as he fired.

Miss Imogen has many things swirling through her head, and it seems like a week passes before she can move.

First, is the pain. The dead pterafolk warrior in front of her -- such a massive creature, and yet capable of flight, with a wingspan larger than any bird she has ever seen -- has hurt her, and she regrets for a moment not wearing her leather jerkin this morning. She had thought she would be safer somehow without it.

Second, is the captures. The loss of two party members so swiftly is disorienting. In one direction, Qawasha, but he is familiar with the jungle and its dangers. The cartographer was not, and Miss Imogen blamed herself for letting her be taken. What to do?

Both were too high and might not survive a fall. She saw that, and while she trusted her arrows, she did not trust herself to preserve her companion's life.

So she ran. As fast as she could. Chasing the creature that was carrying Tarri, hoping that eventually it would set down, or at least be closer to the ground, while still in range. She knew she could shoot far with a bow, but the secret was staying in sight. And as she ran, she found herself gliding between the trees. Literally gliding, each push of her feet causing her to slide along a frozen surface that she was forming beneath her feat as she ran. Frozen footsteps.

In and out between the trees she ran, pursuing the pterafolk with Tarri in its claws. Bow in hand, looking for an opportunity to strike.

OOC: I think she doesn't have the strength to grab the one carrying Qawasha, and her jump isn't super impressive, so this seems the best approach:

Between Move and Action (Dash) and Bonus (Cast expeditious retreat), she will have 90' of movement (45 if difficult terrain, which should be enough to keep up. I'm not sure exactly where she is right now (in post 1271 the text puts her at U16, the map at V30), but wherever she is, she'll pursue aggressively (for as far as she needs to, in hopes that she can keep up and somehow find a means to rescue the cartographer. If someone else shoots down the pterafolk, she will put herself under its falling body if it can mitigate damage to Tarri.

Legend
Harb, Dellrak, & Wulf vs Pterafolk5 (with Qawasha)

Harb took a bow-shot at the Pterafolk stealing Tarri, but his concern for the cartographer made the arrow fall short. He ran along the rising ridge to keep track of the one carrying off Qawasha. It was struck by Dellrak's quarrel and it dipped low, threatening to drop Qawasha a fatal distance.

"Hold your fire!" called Wulf, "It's too risky."

The pterafolk opened its wings and soared around the southern part of the ridge, gaining speed as it went and dropping out of sight of everyone above other than Harb as he raced along the edge of the ridge above.

GM: He's now 20' down from the top of the cliff and 120' above anything that Qawasha could land on. You'll see when I post the map. You may have to let him go...

Legend
Chrysagon & Miss Imogen vs Pterafolk3 (with Tarri)

Chrysagon threw his javelin as Miss Imogen began to chase on foot. The spear tore a small hole in one of the Pterafolk's wings, but it seemed to not be bothered as it circled around, first heading north and then south and dropping over the cliff above the next switch-back. Miss Imogen pursued, leaping from rocky outcropping to brush, her feet creating icy patches as she went which somehow held her footing instead of causing her to slip.

As the pterafolk circled back on itself to follow the other, she found herself on a small perch ten feet directly above it. There was "only" a forty foot drop to the trail below and much water running off of every surface. It was possible that both she and Tarri could survive the fall if she could somehow bring the creature down.

GM: Again, you'll see when I post the map and the round-change. I need Ancalagon to go for Rodrigo first, who's still fighting Pt4 at the switch-back.

Rodrigo slashed viciously at the incoming Petrafolk, taking advantage of the opening created

Reaction: Riposte vs a missed attack (before hit turn)

Riposte for missed attack: 1D20+6 = [12]+6 = 18

Riposte dmg on petra folk: 1D8+6+1D8 = [3]+6+[3] = 12

He grunted as the being lashed out again, turning with the blow to keep it from doing too much damage. Doing so he surveyed the field, and felt despair. His allies were scattered, some captured and out of reach! What could he do?

"Revenge then". He saluted the flying foe and coolly stabbed at it.
Bonus action: Second wind Second wind: 1D10+4 = [2]+4 = 6

Action: Attack main attack vs Petrafolk: 1D20+6 = [6]+6 = 12

Not sure if it's a hit, but just in case: maybe hit vs petra: 1D8+6 = [5]+6 = 11

Move: *IF* his foe is dead, he will move towards Miss Imogen (not able to keep up). If not, he'll drop in a sloppy en-guarde position, daring his foe to attack him.
