Rodrigo dodged the creature's blow and went for its armpit - he didn't know if that was a vulnerable spot, but he had his opening and he wasn't going to miss it.

REACTION: Riposte, technically this happened last round
Riposte with advantage due to fairy fire on plant undead monster: 1D20+6 = [8]+6 = 14
1D20+6 = [15]+6 = 21

Riposte damage on undead plant monster: 1D8+6+1D8 = [8]+6+[1] = 15

OOC: at this point we are entering a "maybe dead" foe. This glowing monster grants advantage because of the fairy fire, but it might be dead. So I'm going to roll with advantage, but if the monster is dead, Rodrigo will move on to another foe. First roll of 2 will be the "normal" one.

Pressing his advantage, Rodrigo kept the attack.

main attack vs creature maybe with advantage due to fairy fire: 1D20+6 = [9]+6 = 15

Hup'lo pulled his pear free, it was eerily covered in a sap'like substance, though he didn't take time to ponder the oddity as ge thrust once more, striking the same spot again only this time opening a much wider hole, by comparison, than he'd made previously.

Legend
As the big rotten wood-and-vine creature lunged at him, Rodrigo ducked to the side and plunged his sword deep into its 'armpit'. A black goo which smelled terribly poured out of the wound and the creature lashed back at him, scratching him across the arm. Strange, thorn-covered vines grew where he'd been struck and they wrapped around his arm, tearing at his sleeve and his flesh. Rodrigo lunged again, but the creature beat his sword aside with a heavy arm.

Miss Imogen sent an arrow over Rodrigo's shoulder and it landed true with a deep thud into the creature's chest. Weed squeaked in excitement and slung stones at the thing, one of which struck the top of its head. Still, the rotting creature did not fall.

A short ways away, Kasqa and Dellrak kept up their tactic against another of the creatures, where Dellrak distracted the thing while Kasqa thrust his spear into it. This was working well, and large chunks of rotting moss fell to the ground, but this one too was not yet defeated, and it scratched Kasqa across the chest, staggering the Chultan warrior as vines similar to Rodrigo's burst forth and scratched at his throat.

Round 5

Kasqa gasped for air as his throat was slashed by the vine, but the Chultan warrior fought to stay on his feet.

“Bluidy ‘ells, mate!” Dellrak called out, redoubling his efforts to try and cut down this monster, to save the brave warrior. His greataxe lashed out, biting into the creature’s rotting side.

Kasqa bravely attacked as well, but weakened, he stumbled and missed.

I plan on living forever. Or die trying.
"Master Dellrack, these are giants. The dwarves are better than them! You can kill it! Just relax into it!"

The sounds of encouragement is clearly heard above the battle and Dellrack remembers his proud heritage in fighting the opponents bigger than he is.

"You there, darkness enlightened, you cannot resist simple faerie fire. You're trying too hard to be a half-wit, aspire to be merely stupid instead."

These words targeted at the giant under faerie fire also can be clearly heard, laced with bardic magic as they are.

At the same time, the hunters raise their bows and fire, but sudden lurch of the giant causes one the arrows to deflect aside at the last moment and the other barely pricks the giants shoulder leaving a small impact crater.

Bonus action: @KahlessNestor Dellrack got an inspiration point

Undaunted by the near-miss, Harb presses on, hoping to finish the giant quickly. He mentally warns Ukee away, wanting to keep her safe from the swarms of insects that are plaguing the others.

Legend
Myrral mocked the rotting creature, backed up with alluring magic, but it did not respond as the one beside it scratched at Chrysagon's shield again and again. The paladin calmly blocked, protecting those around him as best he could. The two tabaxi hunters fired arrows into the glowing undead, but one bounced harmlessly off a rotting piece of wood, while the other stuck in the same piece, but appeared not to bother the creature at all.

Across the muddy trail, Harb mentally waved away his flying monkey and stuck the undead there with staff and foot, smashing chunks of rotting wood and plant matter out of its center-mass. Finally, the creature fell and landed in a rotting heap. It no longer resembled a creature at all, but a pile of fly-covered compost.
