"Given the experience thus far...dangerous. Let me try something."

Malison takes a pebble and scribes something on it. Wailing and hissing sound comes from the pebble, not unlike cats fighting. He tosses it into the darkness, standing sideways from the maw, just in case something flies out. He listens intently for the sound of the pebble hitting something inside or the sound of the pebble wailing to diminish with the distance.

OOC: @FitzTheRuke does Ussal see anything more with the amulet on?

“I doubt anythin’ in this place is beneficial,” Dellrak muttered. He walked over to the yuan-ti. He pulled out his bag of goodberries. “Got somethin’ might help.” He handed his remaining berries over to the most seriously hurt broodguard. Keeping them alive to soak up traps might keep the rest of them alive. (28 goodberries for the very low health broodguard)

Then Dellrak headed up the hall with the alcoves, keeping an eye for traps, noting the pressure plate that was found. As the others started to mess with the bearded devil face, Dellrak posted up down the left side corridor by the metal grate in the floor. He kept an eye on the grate, just in case something decided to come up. (AC42)

Legend
The broodguard took the berries. In spite of being mostly carnivorous, and in spite the fact that the berries filled one's belly after a single one, the yuan-ti guard ate twenty-three before becoming full. The other broodguard took the remaining five in one gulp, curious as to what they tasted like - but it made a face afterward and spat purplish gobs while shaking its head. The healing worked to keep both healthy, and stopped them from complaining about hunger.

OOC: Yes, I'm not sure how Dellrak has so many (was the 24 hour limit errata?) but they're used up now, so we'll move on.

Legend
After finding the first alcove-arrow trap and floor pressure plate, the group spread out and carefully systematically swept the hallway up to the T-junction. Then, Ussal created a small noise-making pebble, and he tossed it in the stone-carved devil's gaping mouth. It struck something deep inside and Ussal listened for the sounds it made. Something moved deep within the darkness. By the echoes, the space was not large, though large enough for even Ussal to enter through the mouth-hole. Something was inside, and it stepped closer to the mouth-hole with the sound of foot-claws scratching on a stone floor.

A telepathic voice called to those on the outside, saying (in no particular language), "Come inside. There is treasure here."

Dellrak had moved to the left and was looking down the large iron grate. Sluggish, murky water flowed beneath. The grate would be terribly heavy, but Dellrak could see that it could be lifted, should they choose to try. The water flowed north-south in a tunnel that would be tall enough to follow (though it would be wet, naturally.)

Legend
Ghorukk lingered by the gaping devil's head while the group spread out into the T-junction. Yassah instructed the broodguards to move ahead down both sides. The hallway was dimly lit by more cracks in the ceiling, overgrown with opportunistic foliage, and hung with roots and vines.

Down the left, past the grate that Dellrak was eyeing, the hallway ended in an arched crystal window, fogged with dust and moisture. To the right, the hallway opened into an immense chamber with a stone-pillared railing that created a balcony that plunged down into darkness.

Did anyone hear that voice? Inside you head? So there's treasure inside? Yeah, right! says Chrysagon suspiciously and with sarcasm. And I am the King of Omu!!!
Instead, he walks towards the arched crystal window and tries to peer through it but it is difficult with all the dust and fog. He wipes the window to see better.

Legend
Chrysagon made his way through the dirty roots and stunted shrubs to the crystal window. He wiped the surface free of the fog and looked through. On the other side was a vaulted room overgrown with moss and creepers. A stone sarcophagus rested on a stepped dais in the middle of the floor. On the wall behind the sarcophagus, two large statues of bears held a five-foot-diameter bronze disk embossed with a dozen glaring eyes. Six desiccated corpses slumped on stone thrones in niches (two each on the three opposite walls). Each corpse wore a black mask made of papier-mâché and feathers.

A tomb with guardians watching over their resting lord.
