D&D 5E (IC) Fitz's Folly

Legend
Yassah woke on the floor surrounded by tomb skeletons, who were clawing and tearing at him. He managed to slash one with his scimitars as they bore down on him, grabbing and raking at him with their claws. He felt a terrible pain as the world slipped away.

Through the mass of scrabbling skeletons, the others could see Yassah taken down, and his body began to smoke and wrinkle, leaving a desiccated corpse where their ally once struggled for life.

The broodguard cried out, but whether it was happy or sad to lose its "handler", it was hard to say.

OOC: Yassah did 6 to TS3s who knocked him down & the others caused 4 failed death saves. Sorry, @Hades#2, I'm not much of a killer DM, but it's gotta be done! We can discuss replacement in the OOC.

Ghorrak finally destroyed the skeleton in front of him, then quickly glanced around the room taking in the situation. Of the options available to him, freeing Imogen's ranged attacks seemed the most tactically useful. He darted into the midst of the small crowd of skeletons, spinning his greatsword in impressive looking but ultimately useless arcs. If he spoke, he would surely be cursing heavily right now.

There are two skeletons looming over Miss Imogen, and a third just back from the rest. She's wounded, and angry, but knows that the end goal of eliminating the Curse is her primary goal.

Weed has scurried into the fray, to attack the damaged skeleton. (Miss Imogen thinks of it as being wounded, but realizes that is sentimentality on her part. These are not wounds. This thing is not alive.

The small vegepygmy's claws hits bone, but is not nearly strong enough to injure the creature. "Be careful, Weed!" She shouts.

It was then that Ghorrak's arrows flew by, missing as well.

Miss Imogen is no good at this close range, and she doesn't want to drop her bow. Her bow is protection, safety. Her bow is hope. She ducks underneath the skeleton's weapon and runs east.

Kapalue is on the ground, and if she can pick him up and take him with her, she will.

OOC: First, It's not clear to me which skeleton is which: I think the two next to her re TS5c and TS5s. 5s just hit her for 11 points (2947), so her HP total is currently 40/51. I don't know which one is 5s (maybe a typo in 2947?).

Weed is moving into position (either BH59 or BI 59), and attacking TS5c with claw (currently 5hp. 1d20+6=10 MISS). Bonus action to Disengage, and continue move, either to either BG 59 (if he had to go to BI59) or BE 59 (if BH 59 was okay).

Miss Imogen: Action DIsengage, and move to BC58. That will take her by where Kapalue is, and if she can pick him up to move him further back ("free interaction"?) she will. But maybe she won't, and her retreat will leave Weed exposed.

Legend
Ever the bodyguard, Ghorrak rushed in to buy Imogen some space to get her bow going. She ducked out, dragging Kupalue with her (as the vegepygmy had also stepped in, in a brave attempt to rescue her).

Imogen and Weed found themselves in the clear, on the other side of the chariot's draught pole. The skeletons turned on Ghorrak, who found himself in a similar situation to poor Yassah: surrounded by raking claws that caused his flesh to painfully wither with every slash and gouge.

OOC: Imogen & Weed retreated; Ghorrak missed, & took 21 necrotic from TS4d & TS5bce.

Neurotic

I plan on living forever. Or die trying.
"No!" while Myrral has no special love for yuan-ti, these are still allies and they gave them no reason not to trust them. And he did just risk his pelt to save this particular snake. It made some things easier though.

He quickly rattles away an incantation and with a final yowl he hurls a small fiery bead in the middle of the skeletons. "Fire in the hole!" he yells moments before the bead blossoms into an inferno that incinerates everything, including the new addition to the mummified inhabitants, in that corner.

Ussal focuses on the opponent in front of him flicking it toward the column, but he gets distracted with his guards death. It is enough for a flick to be weak, but hatred wells up in him.

His gauntlet bursts into sickly green flames and he lashes out at the creature. But it was not a calculated swing, it was strangely emotional, well, raging. Ussal caught himself reflecting in the middle of the fight thinking "Why do I care that a slaver fell? Shouldn't I be even more uncaring toward yuan-ti than humanoids."

OOC: miss by one :( I've checked, I don't have inspiration

The broodguard that calls himself Wrok feels... something... when Yassah dies.

The tiny spark inside that was before, since yesterday possibly, doubles in size, and he only becomes aware of his own scream after it ends.

Focusing its emotion --whatever it is-- on the still standing skeleton in front of him, Wrok bites and claws ferociously, so it can no longer interfere with figuring out what this strange feeling is. His teeth sink into a bone, but it seems not to hurt the undead thing; his left claw swipes the skull to the side, which appears to do some damage, but the right misses its mark entirely.

Legend
Myrall threw a bead, which burst into flames that engulfed the southwest corner of the room. Qawasha nodded grimly to Myrral - it had to be done, Yassah was no more. Then suddenly, from within the smoke and flames, three skeletons (still on fire) burst forth. One rushed at Qawasha and scratched him as he made to move away. Two others joined a third in surrounding Myrral. The tabaxi was able to duck and weave to avoid the worst, but he took one claw-rake to his tail, that burned painfully.

The last of the cauldrons disgorged yet another skeleton, as if there were no end to them. Ussal tried to push one back with his mental force to no avail and he found himself facing three of them. Luckily for him, their claws were still not quite strong enough to get through his metal carapace.

Wrok the broodguard bit into a skeleton. It tasted terrible, but he did not mind. He thrashed it back-and-forth while clawing at it. For a moment, he thought that he had not harmed the thing at all, but when he relaxed his jaws, he found that the skeleton had fallen to pieces with his thrashings.

OOC: You will not believe these saving throws. All of the TS3s save vs Myrral's Fireball, taking 14. Thankfully that kills TS3b at least. They do 6 to Qawasha & 5 to Murral. Broodguard does 6 to TS2c, which is enough to do it in. Ussal missed & was missed in return. Just @Prickly Pear Chrys & Qawasha to go to finish the round.

OOC: @Prickly Pear seems to be MIA ATM so...

Chrysagon charged at the group of skeletons that now surrounded Myrral, hoping to stop them from taking the tabaxi down like they had Yassah. He found a strange gargled sound escaped his throat as he swung his new staff at the horrible things. "Meeh!"

Qawasha swung his gnarled staff and destroyed the burning skeleton who had scratched him. He ran along south of the chariot and sent a bolt of lightning at the last remaining cauldron, cracking but not destroying it.

OOC: Chrys destroyed TS3d & did 14 to TS5d; Qawasha destroyed TS3 & did 9 to cauldron5.
