D&D 5E (IC) Fitz's Folly

Rodrigo winced at the assault, but grinned grimly at Chrysagon 's declaration. He paused for a fleeting moment and added "yes, leave or perish!", before feinting high and trusting low, twice.

As his first trust hit the creature in the knee, it shifted its leg, as Rodrigo knew it would, and the swordsman bashed it on the head trying to slam it on the ground.

Damage [roll0]

Ooc: Must make dc 14 strength save or fall prone

OOC: this is where we enter the if/or fun of pbp.

If the creature was tripped, Rodrigo has advantage on the second attack as he stabs down into his foe (first roll was poor)

[roll0]
Maybe damage [roll1]

If the first attack killed the foe he won't use action surge.

If the foe is dead he will move to behind lady Imogen to let her back out if needed and fill the gap.

If the foe is still standing, he awaits its assault.

Miss Imogen is not happy being so close to her opponent, and so she attempts a dodge. She takes a step back, drawing an arrow from her quiver, as the creature's beak stabs at her. She nocks it and fires at its open jaw, hoping it will choke on the arrow.

OOC: Move: to I10 (5'), risking an opportunity attack.
Reaction: shield if needed.
Attack Pterofolk at K10, with sharpshooter and bless: [roll0] plus [roll1]. If a hit, damage = [roll2].
If the creature should die, then she will move East to L9 (holding the line, with a reaction ready to cast Shield if not used before.

Dellrak & Chrysagon vs Pterafolk 3, 4, & 5

Dellrak's axe took on that strange blue hue that the dwarf could summon as he swung it over his head and sliced the wing of one of the Pterafolk. The creature shrieked and half-heartedly thrust a spear that the dwarf easily side-stepped. It was wide-eyed and shaken, but it stayed beside its allies.

The Pterafolk did not seem to understand Chrysagon, and at any rate the paladin recognised the one to his left as the creature that had taken Qawasha. These creatures very likely understood what the Sticks were here for, and for some reason refused to give up their prisoner. He swung his fail, and it wrapped around the end of the creature's spear and was flung aside as the Pterafolk blocked and then thrust the spear into the paladin's side. Another Pterafolk in front of him thrust another spear and Chrysagon took a shallow stab to the shoulder before raising his shield to ward off a second blow.

As Miss Imogen ducked away, Harb moved in to take her place. He struck out once more with his quarterstaff before moving into a more defensive posture.

OOC: Quarterstaff: 1d20+5+1d4 12 1d8+3 9

Using Kii to dodge as a bonus action. 1/3 points used.

OOC: I completely forgot about the Bless spell. There is one attack where it *might* matter (rolled a 9 total on the first roll of second attack, may help if the creature isn't tripped?)

[roll0]

I won't do the others because they were clear hits.

edit: ah well I tried lol

Rodrigo & Weed vs Pterafolk 6

Rodrigo skewered the large Pterafolk's knee with his rapier and bashed it on the head with the pommel, but the brute refused to fall. Instead, it swung the large bone club with a fury that drove the quick-footed swordsman back into the cave.

Weed slung a stone which clattered along the floor, far too short of his mark.

GM: Some crazy rolls, that Orokos.

Miss Imogen & Harb vs Pterafolk 1 & 2

Miss Imogen stepped back to have room to fire her bow. The Pterafolk lunged forward, nipping at her with its long beak as Harb stepped forward to take her place. She fired an arrow over Harb's shoulder and it struck the Pterafolk in the chest, badly injuring it. Still, it bit and clawed at Harb as he spun his staff. They clashed, with Harb blocking most of the Pterafolk's strikes, but for a claw to his arm, while the Pterafolk blocked Harb's counter-strike. The Pterafolk further up the tunnel threw javelins at him, and Harb managed to strike them aside with his staff.
