D&D 5E (IC) Fitz's Folly

Miss Imogen wants to leap over the balcony railing, onto the table and to the floor and run and pick up Kapalue, her dear sweet Weed, and hold him in her arms. That is what she wants. But she can't. Not yet.

"Weed, protect yourself," she calls out, and lets fly two more arrows at the hag. Even as she lets them go, she knows it's the wrong one.

“My friends Kapulae and I must get up there, please help!” He points to the balcony where Miss Imogen is stationed.

Immediately, Two of the Chwingas break off, becoming visible, both weed and Qawasha suddenly feel light. Qawasha rises in the air and flies to Miss Imogen as she’s about to loose her arrows. He touches her quiver and enchants the missiles but as he does so, he feels something enter his mind. He brushes it off and sees the devious look of the charmed Chwinga.

Deciding it is too risky to keep h them any longer, he waives his hand to dismiss them.

“Thank-you, my friends, your help was invaluable. May Ubtao bless you. “

With that, the Chwingas vanished leaving behind the smell of a spring rain.

1. Chwingas actions:

Two of the closest Chwingas cast fly on Weed and Qawasha.

The charmed one casts phantasmal force on Qawasha but he makes his save (20)

2. Qawasha flies to Imogen (S22) and casts flame Arrows on Miss Imogen’s quiver.

Weed flies somewhere safe and does his action. TBD (@Kobold Stew I’m giving you back control. )

3. Qawasha stops concentrating and all Chwingas disappear.

The tiny Vegepigmy turns with a fluid movement that seems comically awkward, as it adjusts to having only two feet again. It's not clear what the experience of changing shape as he just has does to his mind, but the small squeak that comes out of its mouth may have been Weed's final attempt at a Roar.

At the same time, the small creature loses no time in attacking, and with its sling (knotted from leaves and vines, and really an extension of the creature itself), Weed launches a pellet at the Hag, before scampering under a table.

It's the finest shot he has ever made.

OOC: Action: attack with sling: 1d20+6=26 CRIT! Damage = 2d4+3=7, rolls down to 4 bludgeoning with resistance.
Move: to T24.

Weed's acorn struck the Hag in her left eye, and while it did very little toward killing her, she put one clawed hand up to her face and spun around roaring, "Aah! Ye'll pay fer that y'wee shrub! I'll make a veggie soup o'ya!"

Imogen's arrow had struck her in the left shoulder, but she ignored it entirely. Now Qawasha made her quiver burst into magical flames. The arrows were warm on her hip, but she knew that they would burn hotter when they flew true. Hopefully the Hag would feel it.

OOC: I'll let @Neurotic Myrral & @MetaVoid Ussal go before the Hag.

Myrral looks at the situation and bares his teeth in a dangerous smile when he sees Weed and Qawasha moving away.
"Incoming!" he yells gesturing again.

Another bead of fire flies in and bursts around the hag. He watches carefully, he knows some of the monsters are resistant to magic or fire or both. So he carefully notes the effect of the spell.

"Miss Imogen, Ussal, whale on it. Hunters, go! Catch her in our nets!"

@FitzTheRuke: dissonant whispers didn't hit the ethereal hag after all?

Bonus action: Miss imogen gets inspiration point 1d8
@MetaVoid: Ussal got one last round

Action: neurotic: 8D6#myrralfireball → 30(4 +2 +3 +5 +2 +4 +5 +5)#Myrral fireball 30 fire damage, DC 14 for half

Cutting words reaction: if hag almost fails the save, she gets extra -1 on the save to push her into fail territory :D
(my last inspiration)

Free interact?: hand out tabaxi clawed net to less wounded hunter

Grrol OR Brapp
Move: retreat back away from the hag
Action: shoot the hag +5 to hit, range 80/320 ft., one target. Hit: 6 (1d6 +3) piercing damage.

Grrol OR Brapp
Bonus: take the net
Move with Feline agility, climb speed, get to the balcony and
Action: dash, position so he can cast the net from above next round

Ussal carefully positions himself so his plan doesn't affect the dolls. He moves back and lines up carefully before moving his armored bulk quickly into the cauldron, trying to burn and drown the ant swarm in the witches brew. Hopefully, it will not make each and every ant horse sized. Or smart. Or invulnerable. Whatever the brew is.

Move: AC 26, run into the cauldron to AB24
Action: Ready to shove the cauldron over the swarm at the same time he shoves telekinetically
Bonus: Try to telekinetically shove the cauldron
Cauldron shove with inspiration: 2D20.HIGH(1)+4+1d8 = [10,11]+4+[7] = 22
If it seems close, add Flash of Genius (+4) if I have any available (sorry, I have to check, we stalled for a bit)

Taking the net from Myrral, Brrapp climbed a post that was holding up the balcony and dashed along the rail, balancing. He passed Imogen, Weed, and Qawasha, leaping over small fires. Grroll dropped the smouldering goat-body of Chrysagon, and began to back up the stairs, firing his bow. His arrow struck her in the arm, but she barely seemed to notice it.

Then Myrral sent a mote of flames that burst into another large conflagration. The hag was tracking those on the balcony and she failed to do anything to protect herself, but when the flames died down, she stood there, smouldering and angry. Myrral noted that she must be somewhat resistant to fire, but not entirely immune.

"I'll skin ye an' wear yer fur for a shawl, ye mangy kitty!" she threatened, as she pulled one of her bells and rang it. The sound was eerie and grew louder as she rang it, and Myrral felt it in his bones.

Then Ussal knocked over the cauldron, and its contents spilled over the ant swarm. Half the ants were boiled or drowned, and the other half struggled to get free of the thick, green goo.

"What a waste of good soup!" said the Hag, as her sister, as if from very far away complained, "My pretty ants! My poor babies! Get 'em fer that, Peggsie!"

OOC: Myrral takes 17 psychic & must use his reaction to run away (Dissonant Whispers). He'll take 8 instead if he makes a dc14 WIS save (& no running). Sorry this has taken so incredibly long.

Miss Imogen hates this battle as it draws longer and longer. Her arrows seem almost ineffective against these witches. Their resources are being drained, and there is nothing for her to do. Weed is safe, and for that she is thanksful, but her head is still spinning form the magic that had made her attack her dear friend.

Two more arrows are sent at the hag, and one of them hits.
EDIT: Qawasha's spell causes them to spark and light as they fly through the air.

OOC: Two arrows, only one is a hit: 1d20+4=22 HIT for 1d8+14=16 damage, halved with damage resistance for 8 points piercing.
Edit: + 1d6=6 (woo!) halved to 3 fire(
