The first goblin to enter the room ducks swiftly under Gorir's hammer, and the creature looks at the dwarf with a menacing look. It raises a rusty scimitar, but before it has a chance to use it on the dwarf, James steps in and with his dagger cuts a bloody line across the goblin's back. James' other dagger just misses its mark, but the attack gives Gorir the opportunity to swing his warhammer around, hitting the creature squarely in the face and crushing its skull.
The other two goblins, suddenly realizing they may be in over their heads, look at each other in panic. One starts talking in a hurried, scared tone, and the other responds with an angry command. The bossy goblin takes a step forward, clumsily swings its scimitar at Gorir, who sidesteps the attack easily, then the goblin moves back several feet. The other one darts back into the other room, running straight for the door on the other side.
Meanwhile, Thadius and Magdalena are trying to get rid of the mlarraun snakes. The tiefling, growing ever more frustrated, keeps swinging his mace but the serpent moves just out of reach and Thadius hits nothing but rock. Magdalena, however, hits the snake that just bit her with her dagger, then for good measure hits it with the burning torch as well. Finally it remains motionless, and the paladin, ready to hit it again if it moves, decides it is truly dead.
The other snake, injured by Thadius and now seeing its mate die, crawls back deeper into the storage room, its upper body still raised and ready to launch another gobble of poisonous spit to anyone following it.
