"I suppose there might be," says Suldrel. "In any case I would both hunt and stay if I could. If we need some meat though I should probably get on that immediately. I sorta think the game around here has gotten wise to our family's hunting prowess." The elf goes to grab his spear and takes a step toward the door. "You sure you want some fresh game?" he asks, a bit unsure of whether his sister really wants him to stay and help things as they are.

Sachiko shrugs at that. "Nah, it's almost done I think. Put meat in now, it'd overcook the veggies. In fact..."

She starts whapping the side of the cookpot with the stirring spoon.

"STOP FIGHTING OR WHATEVER YOU'RE DOING WITH EACH OTHER BY NOW AND WASH UP AND HAVE SOME DINNER!" Sachiko bellows at the top of her surprisingly loud voice. The clanging accentuates it, but Suldrel can see that the impacts on the side of the pot are starting to...just slightly...nudge it...on that badly set up support...

Without saying anything Suldrel swiftly grabs a stack of bowls and then immediately shoves them forward towards the pot from the tipping side. "Let's serve it up then I guess," he says to cover.

Elsbeth

"Whoa!" Thought or no thought, the thing was coming straight for his plexus! Fastus tried the side-turning trick again, and again her thrusting 'mace' skidded across the glowing blue pond of her spell!

"Almost got me that time too," the young blacksmith grinned before holding his branch aloft. "But the light of lady Elli protects me! None shall pass! (No blow shall pass?) Something like that!"

And then it was back to wild swings left and right as he aggressively advanced on his friend, his own branch starting to smoulder in his hand in the excitement of it all!

Attack = 1d20+4=13.

OOC: Since we all seem ready to move to tomorrow (and TS should be back soon), want to compact the rest on the fight into a single opposed roll Graybeard? If you do, here's my roll for that (+3 for their diff in strength): 1d20+3=18. Ooh, hard to beat. :)

We're at Suldrel and Sachiko's cottage, somewhere near a wood outside of town.

Elsbeth saw the mighty incoming swing from Fastus and tried to move out of the way. Unfortunately her foot got caught on something causing her own attack to not only miss hitting Fastus, but to actually hit the ground instead.

Fastus's branch hit her squarely in the chest, knocking her flat on her back. The hit from the branch had some strength behind it and, while it didn't do any lasting damage, she would have an interesting and large bruise later.

Raising her hands, Elsbeth says:
"You win, I surrender. I guess I'll stick to spells from now on. This was a good test. We should probably go inside. I think I smell something burning."

"Woohoo! I won! I won, I won, I won!" And then he laughed.

"I guess I'll stick to spells from now on."
"I don't know, Elli: I REALLY liked the 'thrusting mace' move," he exclaimed, thumping his solar plexus to show which one he meant. "That BURNED! Nearly got me too!" He's GOT to try that one himself, first thing!

He grabbed her hand and pulled her off the ground with so much enthousiasm her feet clean left the ground a bit at the end there!

Fastus grinned, breathing only somewhat deeper from the light exertion: "Want to go again?"

Just then Sachiko called then to dinner though and he turned his head away.

"What do you mean: 'whatever we're doing right now'?" he shouted back, his mood glowing. "YOU'RE the one slacking off, Sachi!"

"We should probably go inside. I think I smell something burning."
"That'd be me," joked the blacksmith. (His weapon hadn't actually burst into flames this time around, granted, but it had been a close thing!) "You alright?" he asked just in case, looking her up and down for any obvious damage.

He'll follow her in when she enters.

Elsbeth

Elsbeth accepted the help up from Fastus. She was a bit surprised at how strongly he pulled her to her feet.

"Thanks." she said once she was on her feet.
It took a moment for her to realize she was still holding onto Fastus's hand. When it did dawn on her, she awkwardly released his hand and blushed slightly. She did her best to pretend nothing was bothering her by brushing the dirt off her clothing.

"I'm okay, no serious injuries, probably just a bruise. We should best be getting inside. I'm not sure how good a cook Sachiko is. We might have to stop at the Inn later."

Without further hesitation, she headed inside.

"From orc to hydra," agreed Fastus, laughing at the joke (if it was a joke: it was sometimes hard to tell with Elli, right?). This time he'd missed the blush entirely: she was getting better at it, it seemed.

"Oh. Eh. Wait a bit." The young blacksmith backtracked to scoop up the discarded pile of gear, brushing off an adventurous ant or two from the ham on top. "Want to show the things we bought to Suldrel," he explained, voice somewhat muffled by it all, "see how good we did." From his tone though, he thought they all did very, very, VERY well indeed! Him in particular!

He followed her in, into Suldrel's and Sachiko's little cottage by the woods.

OOC: You guys want to cut here and move to tomorrow, or should we continue a bit?

[sblock=ooc]I don't think there's a reasonable IC way for Wireth and Jariah to find the others during the day, so I'm more than happy with cutting to the next day and starting the adventure proper[/sblock]

OOC: You know my opinion from quite a few posts ago now, ;) . Ummm... what happened to Tailspinner ? Thought he was gone from 1st to 7th.
