[IC] SWS/DnD5, Star Wars the Old Republic – A Gathering Darkness

"Oh, Jedi then! No problems!"

A great deal of strain appears to lift from her face as she relaxes a little. She turns back to the man to speak with the droid for a moment, displaying her blaster rifle, a lightsaber attached to its barrel.

"C4, can you get onto the ships scanners and keep an eye out for trouble.

See if you can pinpoint the origin of this high intensity scan yeah?"

C4 beeps an acknowledgement but continues (in binary) "This unit is afraid to inform this unit's master that the recorders only show the scan, not the location. In order to pinpoint such an action, this unit or one of its master must be monitoring the ship scanners. This unit could set up the AI of this ship to preform such duties but it will take some time...this unit anticipates one hour of time to accomplish said a task."

The gand, crouching to the side, politely nods to the newcomer. In this position, most of him (her?) consists of a battered, all-weather poncho, the hood thrown back to show hard chitin tinged with subtle reds. The silver and tubes of his re-breather is front and center, with just an occasional whiff of gun oil, leather and ammonia on the not-that-pure winds of Footfall's spaceyard...

drone, click "Warnings?" it inquires if no-one else does.

(The voice coming out over the drone-buzzing is definitively female; smooth, artificial, excellent diction.)

Jor Dan glanced around the spaceport, feeling uneasy.

"I would prefer not to discuss this in the open. I do not know who could be listening, and I would not want to be overheard..."

He wasn't going to ask to be brought on their ship, but he also did not trust the area not to have recording devices.

Kacela eyes the stranger for a moment. He'd been spying on her to know she'd spoken to a devaronian...or perhaps spying on the other? The Council hadn't mentioned sending another Jedi either. She'd inquired too, mentioning the ancient structures of a force-using society. The difficulties of Kwi and Czerka aside, there were dangers here that had to be protected, and lore to be uncovered. But Jedi did everything in their own time. The Council had said they would let others in the Order know, but were not making assignments yet.

Of course, the Force pulled by its own will. It didn't have to wait for the Council.

"Very well. Come with us. It seems you already know at least as much as what I have to say, and perhaps more."

As she headed into the Gambit, Kacela focused on the Force, on feeling its energy like a vast ocean around her. She watched, listened, felt...seeking the distinctive disturbances made in its currents by the Dark Side...

[roll0] (Use the Force, trying to sense the presence/absence of the Dark Side nearby)

Kacela senses on Dark Side users of the Force anywhere near Footfall or within a few hundred miles... she notices that the slowly fading sense of darkness from the area where the Infinity Gate was now almost completely silent. The gate and dark presence there once again slipping back to slumber.

Kacela lead Jon and the rest of the team to the Gambit's lounge area where everyone could sit and discuss the present situation in private. C4 automatically closed the hatch after the group had pass within and headed for the lower cargo area and the ship's AI location.

Jor felt a little better being inside the ship. For some reason, he knew his future was connected with this ship, and if there were Jedi present, then he would be on the right side. How they would take him and his philosophies, however, were another matter.

Still, they deserved to know about the impending attack, and this was a way to build some trust before the inevitable questions began.

"Thank you for letting me in," he said, sitting in a chair in the lounge, but not 'lounging'. "I will ask that you forgive me for being so secretive. I understand you do not know me, and have little reason to trust me. I was drawn to this world by a disturbance in the Force, which led me to this dock. When I landed, I felt a strong connection to both this ship, and the Dararonian that was talking to you. So I made a choice. I followed the Dararonian, to find out more before I approached anyone.

"He went to a canteena and met with three others, a Chiss Female, and two creatures in full armor. They spoke of...business that they had with the crew of the ship, and an offer that would be made. They made it clear they believed there were at least two Jedi aboard, and that they believed the Jedi would refuse the offer. Should this happen, they intend to attack the ship and kill anyone on board.

"They did not attack initially because whoever it is that hired them wants to make sure both Jedi died. They were adamant about this. Upon hearing this information, I knew which side I preferred to speak to."

"Did you happen to get any of their names?" asks Kacela. "Or any details about the 'task' they mentioned? It seems more than a little strange that they'd go through the motions of revealing their existence like this, if all they really wanted was to assassinate a pair of Jedi."

clacketty click slur- "Does Kacela and Reks Seviir." But of course Reks Seviir isn't here. clacketty mumble guttural click "Does Kacela know those ones?" mildly inquires the gand.

Her compound eyes seem to peer at all things in the lounge and yet focus on none -- or at least it's near impossible to tell for a regular human.

"No. I met one, but he didn't identify himself or what he wanted. He'll be coming back within the hour though. I expect we ought to be ready."
